First things first,
hate to bump up a thread with a topic wording like this.

After reading the original post it is quite obvious that Ann had a horrible experience at Captain's Quarters and we will compensate fully, I do feel sorry that you were ill that evening or morning also for I can assume alot of us have been thru the same thing.

Our product is rotated and day-dotted on a daily basis and product is thrown out and replenished. We have numerous employees that are "Serve Safe" certified and also Health Dept. certified. We are NOT in the business of serving inferior product to our guests. The croissants were not wrapped obviously and the chicken salad which Ann has a legitimate complaint was not up to our standards, I am not going to get into figures but honestly this is the first complaint I have had on that item this year.

I have already contacted the management team to figure out what staff member made those remarks and rest assured that they are false ( anybody wanting to go on a tour of our kitchen is more than welcome ), there is a lot of pride and camaradrie there with the kitchen staff with the volume of sales that we can do !, on that note the last thing anybody needs is drama in their business and that to will be handled internally.
Ann, I have no idea why a member of management did not come to your table ? I wish I had that answer !, there might of been something else going on ?, that to I will figure out.

I also had an incident with what I thought was a food borne illness about 3 years ago. I dined at a local pizza parlor and became violently ill that evening so bad I was admitted to Baptist East with an I.V. bag overnight, all the tests were ran and I was interviewed about what I had consumed within the last 48 hours to see if there was a "common" bond between myself and others, there was none. I was told by hospital staff that after 2 people have symptoms that are common with one restaurant that a "case" is opened if there are 3 then it is an "epidemic" which that restaurant is visited by the Health Dept. for infractions . Of course I am sure there is someone else on the forum that knows more about the process than I do.

When I look at the replies from fellow forum members I see obviously replies that are more positive towards the restaurant than negative and I really appreciate it !
Wearing the "shoes" is a difficult job but I am very passionate about what I do and have set a record for FB messages from alot of people on the forum who are in the business because of this topic.
And YES we do care about everybody whom dines with us and we do not treat humans like cattle, every opinion counts !

Ann, I have to ask, maybe it is just me but I see words like "shoot from the hip", FOOD POLICE , and LMAO and am wondering if a PM message to me would not of been a better way to address this visit ?, unfortunately I heard several horror stories when I was in Madison, IN for the art show this weekend of several long operating restaurants that are really hurting and also before I left I was in conversation with a couple of other local independent restaurant owners that might not make it thru the winter. Telling it "like it is" and almost boasting about it on a public forum in my eyes is wrong. If you are passionate in what you do you would think the same.

I have sent you a PM

Last note : Sorry about not replying earlier when this topic was posted, when I go out of town I put the electronic devices to bed.

I went to the Chataqua, too! The white painted mime was the highlight for my family. I also left electronic's at the gate. Glad you finally had a chance to respond, Alan.

I can handle bad food, not everything can go right in the kitchen all the time . The service and servers bad attitude is the deal breaker for me.

Seriously? You would rather have awesome service and terrible food? This makes no sense to me. Both are without a doubt crucial, but with solidly good food, I feel at least I could make it work anywhere....you just blew my mind.

stephen d. you basically called me a liar on this forum, and that does'nt not sit well with me.
an apology is in order, if you have cahuna's as you believed heather and not me. as i said, people that know me, know i tell it like it is, and i don't sugar coat it. and i don't have to lie. if may not be what you want to hear, but by golly it's the truth.
michelle r. is correct, if it was a chain, everyone would be all over it.
i took all the necessary steps to let them know.
people on here sometimes just don't like to hear the truth. it's a shame when we can't speak whether good or bad about the place and take the good with the bad.
no place in the food industry is perfect and mistakes due happen and that's where this forum can come in play, they read praises and complaints.
excuse me as i'm tired of having to defend myself. i have to go slay some dragons now....

AnneMarie, I'm sincerely not trying to pick on you, but to brag about being a "shoot from the hip" person doesn't really help your case. I'm certain that you had a lousy experience, but there is a major difference between "telling it like it is" and "shooting from the hip."

Shooting from the hip implies that you just say a bunch of shit without backing it up, or thinking about the entire situation. That's not cool. Telling it like it is, is just honesty. So which one are you? Sincerely, I'm not trying to pick a fight per se, I'm just saying that when you're making such serious allegations that you really need to think about how you characterize yourself.

Additionally, and again, I sincerely don't want to come across like a jerk, but a little more attention to spelling, grammar and punctuation might further your point in future posts. I understand that this is an informal public forum and not a business letter, but when you are going to make serious allegations about an establishment, I feel you should pay attention to such things so as to appear more rational, reasoned and sincere. I know you to be a dedicated member of this forum, and it's clear when you're typing out of pure emotion as opposed to a clearly rationed opinion. I think taking the time to differentiate would be better for you and more fair for the establishment in question.

I just meant that poor attitude on staff's part is what will keep me away from a place more than one bad experience with food. No I will not keep going to a place with bad food but if it is one bad thing ...it happens. If I am treated poorly that is worse for me. It is just my opinion.

That's fascinating to me, and to be clear, I never meant this in an argumentative sense, but I honestly would have guessed most people felt the opposite. I think if I went somewhere and the food was absolutely terrible I'd never think of going back, but if the food ruled and the service sucked I'd give them another chance...interesting.

If all I wanted was really good food several family members are good cooks, but a big part of what I go out for is the experience...the service. I guess it just depends on what is more important to the individual.

Robin-
This could be interpreted two ways. Was that intentional?
