I'm between doctors, myself. My previous MD. already a prosthelytizing fundamentalist, seemingly lost his remaining socio-political marbles when Barack Obama got elected, and went completely over the edge when the health care "debate" flared up. I know it's a really tough call, but at some point, when you observe someone behaving irrationally on a daily basis, you say to yourself: When does it start, where does it stop, and is this healthy for me?

How can I listen to someone bash my beliefs day in, day out, and then be able to trust the medical reasoning? It isn't the same thing as having two different opinions. We co-existed for a long time, but during the last two years ... we're talking courtesy bus to the Hotel Silly.

I need a new doctor. I may have asked for opinions here before, but one problem with being a professional drinker is short-term memory loss. Message me if you have a suggestion, please.

BTW, it's well documented that I've had people decide to boycott my place because of the Red Room. You simply cannot legislate humor, irony or beer taste. Although I try.

Thank you, Roger. It is so hard to walk the path that lets one be true to ones self and yet respect the opinion of others. Personally, I don't think that we agree on much, other than we both believe in being true to oneself and yet respecting the path of others. Sometimes it totally overwhelms me.

Roger, to be honest, the people I talk to about craft beers and where to go, the Red Room is brought up all the time.
From what I hear from those circles it is more of a draw than anything.

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

In my mind, it remains important to introduce new generations to what was genuinely "red," as in the USSR, as opposed to what barely cognizant dullards these days want us to believe is red, i.e., the current administration. The Wall came down almost 21 years ago. It meant something, and the Red Room affords an opportunity to explain exactly what. Perhaps this is not the core mission of the establishment, but I remain a big fan of telling stories and educating.

Have two TV's on opposite ends of the restaurant. One with CNN and the other FOX.

Fox on the right, MSNBC on the left, CNN in the middle of the restaurant?

Just be careful sitting at the bar and able to watch all 3 TV's. That can NOT end well...

~ Perhaps they should just pipe in NPR during Happy Hour.

Michael Sell wrote:2 Points. 1) What is the point in having a tv if the sound is always off and you are playing nice music all the time? Frankly, I avoid restaurants with tv's. Perhaps this customer was over the top, but Fox News sets a nice ambience only for those dining in bunkers with the rest of their militia buddies.

2) To address the poster who said that it takes two to tango, as if Rush Limbaugh up to the present day GOP noise/propaganda machine are not the epitome of playing dirty, cheap, and ugly. These are people who politicize everything. It doesn't take two to tango when typically the right wingers throw mud and the left just takes it. That has been starting to change over the last few years, but it is still nowhere near proportionately similar. And...comparing Rachel Maddow to Beck/Hannity is ridiculous. She's smart, well spoken, thoughtful, and pretty well the opposite of everything that they are conduct-wise.

Well, we know where you lie. Ya know, if you can only recognize the right-wing nut jobs and can't recognize the left wing nut jobs...

I'm afraid to say anything negative about Rachael. People may believe I'm a Conservative Anti-Gay Republican living dude.

I like food.
