My thoughts exactly based on my previous post. I doubt the rent would be too crazy there. It's little hidden but people know how to get there based on the previous business. The place always seemed to do pretty good business. I was there with my parents a few months back in the evening and every table was occupied. Seems much less risky than a high rent spot like Turkey Joe's old spot mentioned earlier. Probably not a huge corporate landlord either which can be helpful. Maybe the owner of SoS will check it out. I tried to find info on who is marketing the property and lease info online but couldn't come up with anything in a quick search.

Brian,

I noticed you had already mentioned it after I posted. I wasn't trying to still your thunder.

That area is great, with a great concentration of bars/restaurants within walking distace of each other.

St. Matthews is turning into the new Baxter Avenue.

I have had a number of friends move recently into the area just south of the Watterson on Breck. Late 20-somethings. Guess that would be the Hikes Point/St. Regis Park area. That's on-top of friends that live in the actual St. Matthews area. 5-8 years ago these people were busy patrolling Baxter Avenue. Nice that the have an area that is closer to home. Supply and demand, eh?

I think so. This probably explains both the recent presence of police roadblocks coming out of St. Matthews on weekend nights ... and the decision by Spinelli's to enter another location in the middle of the zone.

My hubby would do a happy dance - we were planning on meeting friends there when we found out it closed!! He thought he would never again taste those hush puppies :(
St Matthews would be perfect - it would be a 3 or more times a month instead of a "destination" spot (we live off of Browns Lane  )

c'mon Steve & Barbara - have you checked it out???
