In an effort to avoid the crush, I took my lovely bride out on Friday and we had a WONDERFUL dinner at Westport General Store. The Bison Ribeye Steak and Chicken Saltimbocca were top shelf and the private Bourbon tasting with Chef (!) Will Crawford was an added bonus. We've enjoyed Westport General on three or four occasions now and have never been remotely disappointed. The food, service and ambiance has always been outstanding. Nice job Will...Thanks.

Thanks Steve and Becky. I had fun that night. Great to see you guys and share some liquid corn.

I cooked at home for Valentine's Day... Julia Child's boeuf bourguignon and some buttery herb potatoes...those are well worth buying the book for! We did a night out at Aspen Creek Friday, pretty good place. But the highlight of our weekend was a shopping spree at Jungle Jim's...what a place! We found the tea from England we've been searching for the last two years...and a ton of other stuff I didn't know I needed.

Prime Time Cafe in Orlando at Hollywood Studios. Not the most romantic, but "Mom" checked that we'd washed our hands.

My valentine and a couple of friends ate at Havana Rumba and it was stellar! The mojitos were amazing. The sweet potato fries were off the chart and my fried grouper with garlic aioli was some of the best fried fish I've ever had! It was accompanied by sauteed veggies and saffron rice. I know good food when I taste it and this was it! I'm dying to go back. I can still taste the fish (and not in a nasty indegestion kind of way).

Everyone should check it out!

I cooked at home....I made lobster tails for the first time, and I was very pleased with how they turned out, even being warm water tails which I'd read were somewhat of a gamble. But since it was Aldi (with their double guarantee) I decided to take the risk and bought some crab cakes as a backup...didn't need them though. Had them with loaded baked potatoes. This was the 2nd year we'd avoided going out and I cooked at home...and it's much more enjoyable and less stressful.
