I would personally add my thanks to Chris and the staff at Selena's and Will and the wonderful folks at Westport General Store for providing gift certifificates for the HotBytes Potluck Dinner to Benefit KY Harvest. We certainly have some wonderfully kind and generous propriotors in the community.

Just kinda an FYI thing...Becky has been in contact with the folks at KY Harvest in regard to the whats and wherefores of getting any donations to them. Apparently they will pick up any and all donations, we just have to give them a time and place. I'm not going to spoil anyone's surprise but they may want to bring a large truck

Becky also invited her contact to attend the pot luck...they are still working on the details of that.

Steve or Ed, we would also like to donate a Gift Card. I wanted to bring something, but now that this is an option for a charity event it works out better :D

I will be in the great city of Cleveland, OH that weekend, my annual pilgrimage to watch the Browns on MNF ( which probaly will not happen in a while after this season )

Would it be easier to mail it or I can bring it out to Will,s place ?

Very thoughtful of you, Alan and also Selena's and Westport General Store. I drive by CQ on my way to work and would be more than happy to pick it up. Please PM me with instructions on pick up. Thanks again.

The House of Dumante will be sending some canned goods and some Dumante that I will be playing with. I also think it would be appropriate if I brought my 'hand-selected' bottle of Maker's- my gift at the BVS 'King Louis Dinner'. It would make me happy to crack this special bottle with everyone.

And the chicharrones, except I think the spicy-side will be basted with the 'Hottest Ride in Town' BBQ sauce that Shane gave me the last time I was at Westport General Store. It ought to be pretty darn good!

Alan,

Thank you. That is most kind and thoughtful of you and the folks at Captain's Quarters. Most appreciated.

On a lighter note, I hope you will be one of the fans who skip the opening kickoff in protest of the job our beloved "Mangenius" is doing. My bet is Bernie will end up being an "interim" coach-in-name-only for the last 3 or 4 games of the season.

I am happy to annonce my firm commitment :D :D :D
I will be bringing five or six chafing dishes, sternos, some extra foil pans and some serving utensils.
Has anyone said they were bringing things like cups and ice, plates, eating utensils and napkins yet?
I may be able to bring some of that as well if no one has offered.

As far as my dish, I will be bringing a version of porchetta, an Italian herb stuffed pork roast. It was one of the featured items discussed at the Menu Trends meeting last night and it was damn tasty.

So far it is a go for Richard and I. Even if R. has to work, I will be there for sure, barring flood, famine or pestilence.

Steve P wrote:Sorry about not updating this post...We've been in the mountains watching the leaves turn colors and the sun go down behind Grandfather Mtn, NC.

I wanted to put out a list of folks who have indicated they plan to attend but before doing so wanted to put out another call to ALL Hotbyters to join in the fun. From a purely selfish perspective, there are a lot of board "regulars" the Becky and I have yet to meet in person and we'd love to break bread with any and all of you. I'm sure we're not the only ones who feel this way.

Here's the guest list to date, if I've forgotten anyone or neglected to indicate friends or family members who plan to attend please feel free to update this list:

Ed Vermillion and Family
Steve and Becky P (Mashed Taters, Stuffed Cabbages and BBQ Meatloaf)
Jackie R (A "Good" Salad)
Marsha and John (Bourbon Creamed Corn)
Robin and Mary
Gayle DeM
Carol and Bob C
Roger (Beer)
Linda and Mark B
Dan Thomas and Family (tentative)
David Pierce<---*
Becky M and Family
Steve R and Family (Dessert and Cornbread)
Carolyn Davis and Granddaughters
Regan H (Ham Beans)
Carla G
Madeline and Tim M
Suzi and Richard Bernert (tentative)
Kurt R. (tentative)
Gary F (app and a side dish)
Stephen D (Food novelty, etc)

I didn't sign up. I simply said:

I have prior plans and can not attend. Ya'll have fun without me.

Got ya covered David, my misunderstanding. Sorry you can't attend, I was really looking forward to thanking you in person for all that wonderful elixir you put out. Maybe next time.

I have had around 30 hits from Browns Backers websites about doing this....gonna be interesting if it happens
We usually start tailgating around noon for late games, but last year we hit the Winking Lizard on Huron early then migrated to the Blind Pig( super diehard fans in there ), a girl walked in there last year with a Giants jersey on and I feared for her life...

Anyway we probaly will do that again and finish up at Golic's before the kickoff activities commence

Put Sarah and me down as tentative. I think we'll be able to make it, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Also, I just reviewed the list of what people are bringing, and it looks like we could use some dessert. I'll work on that.
