An excellent plan.

Maybe we just "see" things differently.

Back on topic: Handmade gourmet thin crust vegetarian pizza, by the pie or by the slice, again tonight at Ray's (unfortunately we don't have it every night YET). Should be available about 4pm to close (midnight).

Cheers!

(on a totally objective point of view, I grew up in Chicago, so I'm a huge fan of deep dish pizza. But for thin crust, this stuff rocks. Almost a pastry like crust, and superior quality toppings make it a winner.)

Was "take it or leave it" meant for me? It would be hard for me to care much less one way or the other. I'm just really interested in politics and not many aspirants would post on a web site that they were Chavez fans if they were seriously interested in getting elected to much of anything in the US.

And, cheers (in the sincerest of terms) back atcha!

TP Lowe,

It was intended not just for you, but for anyone who cares to listen. Hopefully, people will vote based on the policies advocated by the various candidates. My policies include putting police back on the beat (walking rather than cruising by in their cars) so they can get to know local business owners and residents, education over athletics (so our coaches don't literally run our students to death while depriving them of water), a support for local over out-of-state when it comes to tax breaks, grants and other business incentives, sustainability over growth (which is a HUGE topic, but includes getting our infrastructure back in place so we don't lose power when the wind blows or get flooded when it rains), etc, etc. There is a lot more!

Yes, government does play a role. People complain about public options, but they all take medicare when they turn 65! People accept public fire departments, water companies, police officers, parks, roads, schools, libraries, building codes, the list really goes on and on. The point is is that government does a lot for people on a day to day basis. We need to pay taxes to fund these essential daily services (that many of us take for granted and all of us use). Ooooh, is that Socialism? The US is truly a hybrid between pure Capitalism (Laissez-faire Capitalism, more like what we had in 1900) and Socialism.

I am not running as a Dem or Repub or any other party. I believe people will listen to the issues, and think about what they truly care about, and vote for the candidate whose policies will best achieve the issues the are most concerned about. Chavez is not perfect. No leader is truly perfect. But we can strive to help our communities to the best of our abilities. That is what I will do!

Just for the record, there were 72 people at the U of L event. The CJ is notorious for underestimating our crowds! The reporter was sitting in front and must not have see or recorded the people behind him. It was a great event. Cindy still has the power to attract great crowds of concerned citizens. Thanks God someone is out there walking the talk. Our country is headed toward big trouble if we let the likes of the tea partyers destroy our constitutional rights.

New subtopic: I think if Mr. Chavez made a pizza, the cheese would be very evenly distributed!

I believe if Mr. Chavez made a pizza, the cheese would be mainly on the left side.

The left gives us cheese, and the right gives us cheeselessness? Finally I understand why I'm left-leaning myself.

This all gives new meaning to the old saying, "Pie in the sky, bye and bye ... "
