:) To those who are perplexed and confused about major issues like the high price for gas, wars, terrorists, too low levees and other really bad stuff...I wish lots more of us had read the Carlyle Group website back in 1999. It's cleaned up now...well, most of the interesting names removed anyway.
To those who think lots of things would be safer, and maybe cheaper, if the gov't would do its job...sorry, you must have missed the Carlyle website. The Carlyle Group, btw, was owner (probably still is) of United Defense and Raytheon in the South End. They get large defense contracts. They also own or owned Verizon Comm., had or have chunks of the CALPERS (CA pension plan money) invested under their control, and tons more I won't name because some folks know it anyway, and some won't believe I read what I read back in 1999. It was so interesting I tried to print a Sr Advisor thumbnail pics page but it wouldn't print out.
As my religious friends say: the love of money is the root of...a ton of bad stuff, I guess.
Back to the original question...nah, I'll continue to eat out till it is no longer possible to do so. My Corolla (made in the USA!) gets almost 30 miles to the gallon. Thanks guys, I love you all. :)
