You're right, it is mine.

Some of the most fun people I know are in the 70+ age bracket. My dear great aunt, who we lost last month at age 95, used to dance and drink at family weddings well into her late 80's.

For Louisville, I'm old to be the mother of young children, but I'm still younger than the baby boomers, and I feel really comfortable at places like Equus (which I tried the first time recently) and Le Relais (which I love). Yes, the demographic is old, but that doesn't mean it's stodgy or demands tasteless food.

Also, one big benefit of going to places like this with kids...invariably, at least one older person walks up to us, pats a child on the head, and says that he/she didn't know that children could be so well behaved these days. Sometimes, they even mention their own grandkids and roll their eyes. It makes me feel like some sort of supermom.

I guess I got myself in trouble when I tried to edit nesting backquotes. I'll go back and fix it.

Corrected the original backquote to read "Justin Hammond." Sorry, I got lost in a nest of quotes.

Haha - no big deal. I agree with the comment - just want to make sure the record is straight!

Classic! Dean's stock is on the rise. I'll change all my "older people" to octogenarians.

If you are kind, professional and don't mind dealing with the occasional octogenarian, please apply in person for a server assistant position. We have a great crew and we need help, maybe some Metro people need help with jobs. Just come by and see us. Thanks

Glad to see them hiring! This means more great food for those of us who are "in" on the Equus secret!

Chef Dean,

There has been recent mention of Jack's having a few "best of" in Louisville, the burger and mashed potatoes, so I had to make another trip. Here is a quick rundown. Another flawless visit, which put me on the Jack's burger bandwagon. For right now I'll put it at the top of my list. I don't generally eat mashed potatoes, but these were some of the best I have ever tasted. The S'more was great as always and they added Widmer Drifter Pale Ale to the beer list. Our server, Ashlee, was perfect. I encourage everyone, young and old, to give them a try.
