Ok so where is this going to be? and is everyone bringing their own bbq and sides to share? :? I'm confused!

Not sure if the hubby & I can make it or not we are going to have a house full of college kids (ours and others) that week and this is the first day back to school(work) for me. But I am thinking we might need to escape! and I hate to pass up bbq anytime. PS if we come I will bring a gallon of my own sweet tea for us tea tollers (I am sure that is spelled wrong but you know what I mean).

The Kentucky BBQ Company is at 1800 Frankfort Avenue. We aren't bringing our own food, we're going to eat off their menu and explore BBQ/Beer pairings for a potential BBQ/Beer event in the future where we would bring/cook our own.

In essence, this is really more of a reconnaissance mission for the beer geeks!

However if you're still interested in coming, just let me know and I'll add you to the list.

World cuisine night? Do you still have your regular menu of bbq as well? If not, then we might have to change the day.

Thanks!

While I realize there is some friendly "competition" there, the BBC Tap Room at Clay St. Live might be an option - I know that we can bring food in there.....KY BBQ co catered my hubby's b-day party there a few years ago.

Happy to help....and also know from being on the board that if you're looking for a deserving non-profit to benefit, the Red Cross Louisville Chapter is in great need of ways to raise $$ for the disaster relief fund, which paid out a lot of money this year for the 1-2 punch of Hurricane Ike and the Ice Storm....

Eric,
I have been to the KY BBQ Co. twice and the food was great but, the attention given to your diverse selection of beers was lacking.

What was lacking?
a beer menu (at least covering bottles)
if a draft list is not available, i'd like the server to be able to tell me what is on tap
i like a server who can PUSH beer, offer suggestions, tell me about something new or something that they like, or that goes great with your brisket

i would have loved to have a St Bernardus when i was in last, but no one told me it was on tap :(

no offense intended, but with a selection like yours, you need to show it a little more love

(i'm sure a huge portion of this forum had no clue that you had the Great Divide 15th on tap!!!!)

That's an excellent idea. I think we're still going to go ahead with the KY BBQ Company dinner, but if we ever have a BBQ and Beer potluck like some have suggested, then that could be a great location.
