Fantastic.

Now everyone is comparing the size of their forks.

My two cents....I agree there have been some pretty lame things said toward/about Phil. Latest example the high falutin duck confit reference, come on thats a ridiculous thing to say especially on a food forum. That said, I find it hard to believe that Phil really has such a thin skin. It seems to me it may just be another form of sh@# stirring by Phil. Seems like a button pushing issue, give Phil a hard time...he says hes moving back to Wisconsin...people come to his defense....and so and so and so it goes. I very much regret not being able to make it to Gayles meet and greet to talk to Phil in person. Coming from Chicago and having lived in Sn Fran, Seattle I can appreciate some of what he says about Louisville. There seems to be little bit of over sensitivity on both sides here. I like the fact that there are disagreements here, it would be pretty boring otherwise.
So to nutshell this...personal attacks lame/Phil lighten up

Maybe a new topic should be posted

A double pronged statement if there ever was one. ;-D

Ok, Phil, enough of you sucking the air out of the room. I feel that you are one of those people that try to express yourself as a critic. It's not working for you, brother. Our critics are supportive of the scene and are kind with their words. The whole 'power broker by fear' thing falls apart here. Hell, I'd never open up to you as a guest, for fear you would slam my efforts! Who does that hurt, really?

Maybe you need to be shown how to properly dine. Yeah, you have been in all these places and done all these things. Forget them and live in the moment, man. I met you and your charming wife at Gayle's and I really liked you both. You really do come off wrong in print. I'd love to break bread with you, sometime.

PM me, if you like and 'I'll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes...'

PS. As far as my 'worldly characteristics' are concerned, if you were to draw a latitudinal line from San Fran to DC, I have been to every major metropolitan city to the south (I hate cold weather,) so I'm pretty sure I have a frame of reference from which to speak from.

PSS. Oh! I really did enjoy the rum you brought to the party. It was all I drank (3.) Hoti rocks!

I think this perpetuates the whole hard-on-Phil issue. Want to compare passports?

I enjoy reading and sharing experiences that we've had, but let's refrain from turning this into a "braggers' club" about where we've traveled and dined....after all, I've been to Hopkinsville, but you don't see ME rubbing anyone's nose in it.... (*wink*)

I was surprised nobody brought that up until now. I do agree with Greenup though, lets go highroad here.

Unfortunately, that ship seems to have sailed some pages back. I'll not perpetuate the comparative discussion beyond my original crass statement, however.
