Re: Power out? How are you keeping warm?

Still out where I am in 40204. My small street is a blackout, but I'm pretty sure the fallen line in my backyard is the sole cause for my outtage. It was up one minute, power on, then power out and line down. I haven't seen a truck yet, so I'm patiently waiting for my turn. It's been an adventure. I took a bath at home yesterday, a nap today - just to show I still care. Slowly but surely, we'll be reunited. The fridge and I are gonna have a bitch session, though.

Aw, thanks Wes. I'll remember that next time we have a state of emergency - let's say, April? Thankfully, I had not gone to the grocery as recently as some people I know. My total loss consists a tub of yogurt and the bottom of some half and half. I have tons of dried goods, so hopefully the squirrells didn't find a way in - although, I would have invited them, poor little creatures.

Still no power at my house. Luckily, we are keeping warm, and have a gas water heater and stove, so we can at least cook and take hot showers. My parents, who live off of Moser Road Just got power back yesterday afternoon, and my brother, who lives in the South End, also got his power back yesterday. Our neighborhood was hit REALLY hard, and there are at least 3 lines down, close to my house. I'll be amazed if we have power back by Wednesday. All things considered, it could have been so much worse. For us, it's been a huge inconvenience, but nothing more. The most nerve wracking part was getting stuck in a patch of ice in my driveway this morning, and navigating my neighborhood to find a way to work that wasn't blocked by power lines wasn't fun, either.
