Is this get together happening? With it airing next weekend (I hope), I need to start planning... ingredients/recipes and finding someone to watch the kiddos.

Hope you all had a festive Thanksgiving!

Rob, all forumites are welcome, and we'd be happy to meet you!

I think we should probably break out a new topic on this now that the date is getting close. I can't do it right now, but will start one over the weekend.

Well, I feel the desired location will be kinda like a"sports bar" with out the "sports bar" feel. It must have ample seating, tasty vittles, fairly good service and allow those of us who would like to take place in a sort of "tasting challenge" a little bit of latitude when we carry dishes of stuff we made ourselves into said establishment....What do you think Rodger?

What do you think Roger?
If enough of us can RSVP would you consider hosting this event?
I know Sundays are precious but this could be neat!

The BBC Taproom is still available. We have two 30" TV's and space for 30 or so people. Bring a dish to share?

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

After surfing the web, I noticed this on the local newspapers website.

Restaurant news

'Iron Chef' special at The Oakroom

The taping took place several months ago, but the broadcast of Oakroom executive chef Todd Richards' stint on the popular Food Network show "Iron Chef" will finally air Dec. 2.

Fans of the show and/or Richards can watch the initial broadcast at the Seelbach Hilton that night. Big-screen TVs will be set up in both the Oakroom and the Anteroom. Tasting menus will be available. Richards hints that he may add a few items from his "Iron Chef" menu that night. Dinner will be from 8 to 10:15 p.m., with the broadcast beginning at 9.

On Dec. 6, Richards will reproduce his complete "Iron Chef" menu for a special dinner. He cannot reveal the show's signature "secret ingredient" challenge before the show airs, but the menu will include an appetizer of sweetbreads, a coffee-smoked turkey soup, a pancetta and pineapple salad, an entrée of beef osso buco and a special interpretation of a classic cake for dessert. Cost will be $60. Call (502) 807-3463.

Sounds very intriguing!
