I also love:
Fat Dog Stout from Stoudt's
Hopsickle IPA from Moylen's

Also, Barleywines tend to have great names:
Cereal Killer from Arcadia
Old Scuttlebutt from Bear Republic
Old Numbskull from AleSmith

This has really gotten off target for the beer list at Carly Rae's, and with that, some of my favorite beer names that we carry:

Mishawaka Brewing's 7 Mules Kick Ass Ale
Thirsty Dog's Old Leghumper
Kentucky's Finest Horse Piss (A renamed/relabeled version of the BBC Gold mentioned earlier)
Pretty much anything from He'Brew (The Chosen Beer), but their latest called the Rejewvenator was a nice one, and a tasty beer.
Keg Liquors
Keeping Kentuckiana Beer'd since 1976

One of those things that just is and hardly gets questioned but I guess really needs to be.

Probably time for a campaign to straighten it out on Menus. Kind of like, "why is Brut champagne drier than Extra-dry"...seems wrong...or if Congress actually did something worthwhile...they'd be called Progress(George Carlin).

I probably need to adjust my vocabulary...I use this currently: domestic, cheap domestic, import(for imported swill), imported craft(for quality products), American craft, Micro(for the smaller guys), and brewpub.

AB is considering a deal from INBEV as I type this, so it could also fall by the wayside and be considered a true foriegn-owned brewery before too long.

Molson/Coors/SAB/Miller and now INBEV/AB...seems like it keeps changing once a year. A few years from now...who knows...
Hi Brad! To clarify (from my original post), I put "the usual suspects" under domestic (I.E. Bud/Coors/MGD/etc. etc.) to differentiate between how important those beers "should" (not) be, versus those craft/micro/interesting beers that are currently on the market, and they are the ones that we seek out to make the world safe for democracy........I put AB/Coors/Miller Et.al in the same tent as Walmart/Gannett/ etc. and any tentacles or "sell out's" are alway's suspect in my mind.......JMHO

Oh, don't get me wrong...I totally understand your menu and really don't have a problem with calling fizzy yellow stuff domestic and giving the craft guys their own due...we sort of mini-hijacked the original post/thread to debate the merits of including "domestically produced craft beer" with Bud/miller/coors.

I'll definitely be by for some food and good beer.

Nice Marsha!! I didn't know about the Dogfish. I could just picture myself strolling into Rich O's, hunkering down under chairman Mao, and asking for a "Golden Shower".......

I'm not touching that one ... but seriously, Dave & Garrett, are you guys going to be around this afternoon circa 4 - 5? The Mrs and I will be out and about and could drop by.

One of my friends just got tricked into moving to utah, and she's going to try to send me a polygamy porter. I'm pretty excited.

I can't believe 'Arrogant Bastard' didn't make that list. COME ON!

.Hi Brad I agree with the expanding of the German/ Belgium selction, my issue is finding a price point where I'm able to supply a great beer but not shooting myself in the foot with price point. I want to be able to supply to the common man but not scare them with $$$ signs. As to the remark About AB selling Magic Hat etc. .... it needs to be pointed out that that distributer is not AB owned and is in fact independent... one of the few left. It is sad though to see AB distribute or should I say try to distribute craft beer it's an oxy moron. I should clarify that Before I took this job I worked for a distributer (river city) please keep sending advice thanks.

Hey Garrett,
Thought I'd chime in and wish you the best in your new gig. Sounds like you're making quite an impact. Congrats. Also, if you're still looking to expand your German and Belgian selection I have a couple of suggestions for you. First, I know there are a couple of kegs of Hacker Pschorr Maibock on the market. They wont be around long but might make a nice late spring offering. If you're looking for a more permanent selection you cant' go wrong with Paulaner Hefe - especially on your patio. Serve it in the right glass and nothing says summer quite the same way. Neither of those brands are too expensive for a 50L keg. [/quote]

On the Belgian front - Saint Bernardus is now officially in the Louisville market. Bottles are available on all flavors and both the Wit and Abt 12 are available on draft. While not inexpensive, their relative cost when compared to wines of similar caliber is a remarkable value. All of their stuff is pretty amazing.

Anyway, good luck with the new gig and if you need any help, you know where to find me.

*Disclaimer - I sell all the products mentioned in my post

I'm much more of a wine man than a beer nut, but say what you will about Fat Tire, but one of my favorite memories is playing one of the best shows I ever played in my life, drunk off my a$$ on Fat Tire...to 150 confused hungover people at 1 in the afternoon at SXSW 2006...ahhhhh the memories!

also- VIVA HOPSLAM!!!!!! I could (and have) drink that 'till the cows come home...

Hopslam.....
I've said it before and I'll say it again. For Hopheads, like me, this is simply THE BEST beer I have ever tasted. (typed while contemplating breaking into my last six pack of it)
