We were going to try Oak Street this weekend. We were visiting the in-laws in Old Louisville and were going to order a pizza to pick up on the way home. Oops! Except this was sunday and didn't realize they were closed. Doh!

So then we said, hey, let's try Windy City again since they were closed for the holidays last time! Yeah, anyone want to take a stab at the problem there. Yeap, also closed sundays! So sad for us.

Raekwon the chef

Just noticed: So how come nobody here commented on the cigarette dangling from the lips of Raekwon the chef?

or the strange white powder in his skillet?...

LOL, oh man that is classic.

So many inappropriate jokes, so little time...

This pizza looks fantastic. I'm gonna have to round up my group and head over this weekend. Is there ample seating for groups of 5 or more? Or would you recommend take-out? Also, do you carry any alcoholic beverages? :)

EDIT: Just read in the CJ that it's carry-out and delivery. Answered my own question.

I've always found pizza to be best made from scratch. Not to fond of frozen pizza dough. It seems to take away the fresh crunch of that first bite out of the oven. while working at Clifton's pizza many years ago i experimented with different flavored and different textured dough. comparing it to say "p johns" or "d'minos" the flavor was much better than the corporate dough.

I love it. see, that's the kind of no-holds-barred enthusiasm you only get from an independently owned, local restaurant. Go get 'em Casey!

I am sitting here drooling on my keyboard beating myself up for not reading this thread earlier- Yesterday I needed a place in Old Louisville to kill an hour or so and would soooo have loved a piece of that beautiful pie. I'm sure I'll be by soon. Good luck.

Oh, GaryF, the next time you're in Old Lou with time to waste, come on over and I'll put you to work icing a cake! ::snicker::

I got to sample this yesterday afternoon.

They definitely have the best white pizza I've sampled in this town. Everything evenly distributed throughout the crust, not too much garlic.

Also picked up a Sicilian. With it I loved the crust but i'm kind of "meh" about the sauce. I cant place my finger on what I wasnt totally enjoying about the red sauce. Not to say it was bad by any means I'm sure this is a personal taste thing as my girlfriend was in love with the red sauce.

Will definitely go back so I can try the whole wheat crust.

Casey,
Thanks for your response that you have no delivery boundaries. I did not realize that there was another thread with that info untill I linked to all of your posts. We can't wait to try it! You will definitely be our next pizza choice. 8)

How could one go wrong when you've got a member of the Wu-Tang Clan making your pie

Support this place. Casey, I'll probably be by soon for a more traditional pizza, or I'll have you troop out to Hikes Point again. Also, what's on an Italian sub...pretty standard or anything special???

Thanks! DD
