We are currently working on a plan for the center space. The east most club, the Body Shop is still in business. They have been very nice thus far, and I don't anticipate either of our businesses affecting the other in a negative way.

As more and more comes together I will keep things updated. We are very excited and believe we are bringing some very exciting and fresh to the downtown area.

Thanks. I'm not up to date on cultural attractions lol. When is the projected opening?

Before it gets to far under the radar, THIS needs to be elaborated on a bit...

The venue is actually going to be opened under the "House of Blues" banner, which, entertainment-wise is a pretty big deal. The House of Blues will bring in a LOT of artists that had previously not performed here (or if they did had to play in a lessor venue). If I'm a betting man, I would expect there is going to be a LOT more interest in the area once this place opens. Personally I can guarantee that we'll be spending more time downtown as the result of the entertainment this facility is going to provide. This is GREAT news.

Here's the link to a diagram of the place.

Here's another link to the artist calendar of the Cleveland House of Blues to give folks an idea of the breadth of entertainment.

Opening early November.

Yeah, Steve. It IS a big deal. It's huge for the neighborhood, and we couldn't be more happy about it.

My curiosity was piqued by recent conversation about 4SL. So I spent some time walking around a few days ago during the day and then in the evening to get a feel for the current state of being.
Although not packed, there was certainly a healthy movement of people both in the afternoon and in the evening. My guess is that Cordish is holding its cards tight against its chest these days. Work is taking place on the second floor behind the Improv towards the foodcourt at 4SL. It seems to be common knowledge among workers there that "The Tavern" is coming next spring. Perhaps Cordish is waiting for other developments before rolling this info out to the public.

Huh, that's interesting. I'm down there frequently and hadn't noticed anything except storage happening in there. Well, it's good to know they might actually get around to building what we paid them another $900K to build!

The paper was hanging down in the right hand corner. I went upstairs to get a better look (near the Improv entrance). The lights were on and I could see drywall and a few workers. When I asked around it seemed to be common knowledge.........I'm not a big Cordish fan and I staunchly support and live by the "Keep Louisville Weird" adage. But I'm also a pragmatist---Cordish is already there. I would rather see businesses there than a blighted, empty block. Until a local interest is ready and able to buy them out we'll just have to deal with reality as it presents itself.

I wonder if a restaurant will be part of the deal. I worked at the HOB in New Orleans years ago and they had a nice patio, a restaurant and a smaller music venue along with the regular music space. It was a cool place to hang out. Plus they had the muscle to bring in acts that might normally appear in a bigger hall.

The place is pretty small, in my view. I can hardly see how they would pack 900 people in there much less open a kitchen.

Spending my Sunday through Friday evenings and some weekends in or traveling to/from NOLA for the last several months. I went to the House of Blues Gospel Brunch one Sunday morning recently. The food and entertainment were outstanding.

Great another place operated by the company that runs Makers Mark Lounge. I wonder if they will have the same lame food. Think of what a local could do with a 1.5 million dollar forgivable loan.

Unfortunately, Metro government would never even consider doing something like that. The locals must struggle including fighting Metro government codes to get open yet outsiders walk-in, get handed money and open an inferior restaurant! Sure doesn't figure does it?

I will play Nostradamus for a minute. The loan is only forgivable if they stay in business for 5 years. I foresee the new place making it to 5 years but will close before year 6.
