Re: Inedible Objects in Food Stories

My first job, at age 15, was working in a "family style" restaurant...one of the fellers I worked with cut the tip of his finger off while grinding cabbage for a batch of coleslaw. As I recall he cut it off about halfway up the finger nail...So yes we're talking a significant chunk of "meat"...So what'd they do with the cabbage ? Why they finished mixing up the slaw and served it of course.

Wow! Great stories everyone! (Except for the one who tried to cause a fight... as I said in the OP, that is not the purpose of this thread.)

Ronnie... no worries. A plastic ring story is certainly not going to stop me from enjoying delicious cajun food reminiscent of my home area.... only 5th street construction delays... heh ;)

Isnt that basically what happened at Buckhead's on Shelbyville Rd back in the late 90s?

Some customer freaked out when they found the tip of a finger in their salad?

I remember seeing this story on the news back in '95, and I've been telling the story ever since. They showed a picture of it on the news at the time, and I swear the thing looked like one of those children's toys that you squeeze and the the center object (like an eyeball or something creepy) pops out of the side of your hand but it's still inside of the rubber ball. Like it was encased inside of an embryo sack or something? I'm so tickled that a google search turned it up.
