I may have to stop by the La Grange Wal-Mart this weekend since I'll be out that way. By the way, that location is the best in the area for people-watching in my opinion.

Used correctly it may elicit a chuckle or smile from other community members, but no it does not contribute to the train wreck of a thread, nor was it meant to.
As this point i would say this particular subject is not salvageable so best to either make light of it or delete the thread entirely.
Jason, you're right, I don't get out into the Interwebz much.![]()
My point, however, is that we don't value train wrecks here, and your "contribution" doesn't really help cool things off. I'd rather count on the people here to have good sense than for me to have to run around shutting down conversations and banning people. So work with us, willya?
Are you African-American, by the way? I take it that avatar was meant to be autobiographical ...
Jason G wrote:Oh and also, I DO get out on the interwebz a lot, and trust me there is nothing wrong with deleting or moving a thread or banning someone.
I realize this is not the way you want to run your site, but as it gets more popular you may have to exercise a little more oversight to make sure the content is civil and relevant. Otherwise you get guys like me posting memes on a thread about charcoal on the restaurant forum, because hey, when in Rome...

Oh, Jason, I do delete, lock and ban on occasion - I'm still thinking about it in regard to ONE post on this thread - but I like it when we can avoid that kind of authoritarian stuff in favor of being a collegial community. Where an occasional fight breaks out.
If you want to help me spread my wings on the webz, feel free to friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter. I need all the help I can get, since I've only been doing social media since 1984.

To interject a little humor on the subject at hand, I couldn't let this go without mention and then I'm mum on the subject. Sorry about the R-rated language, but those of you that know me outside of the virtual world know that I have a penchant for using four letter words as colorful metaphors.![]()
I like Jackie a lot. She's one of the coolest people I know and I am married as well. If I were using Troy's words to describe Jackie, "fucking awesome" would fit her well. So I guess I'm fucking weird also? I chose foodservice as a profession so apparently that must be true, because you have to have a fucking screw loose to do this for a living .![]()

I think Jason and I are getting along okay. I was a little perturbed this morning because of the timing of his post ... early in the day, when it looked like the fires were finally dying down, and then an (arguably stereotyping) image brought it back to the top again. But, no harm, no foul. I'm really thinking that the only post on this thread that most puts me out is Troy's, because it contains false information that could be damaging to our business. But I'm hoping he'll come back sober by daylight and help sort that out.

I'm pretty sensitive to stereotyping, but is there a stereotype of black folk eating popcorn? Am I missing something?

Take another look and don't make me spell it out.
