Somebody needs to mention the cheap but good Lambrusco from Aldi's in Indiana, its a weeknight staple at our house... Go Hoosiers ! for having Wine in the store without the Faux entrance Hillbilly work around.

Gary, do you have one around? I'm curious who the producer is? Lambrusco can actually be a delicious wine, and one of the best ever for super-fiery Indian and Thai fare, but some of the (sadly rare) smaller producers can outdo the industrial brands, Cella and Riunite, on any given day.

The one in New Albany or the one in Jeffersonville which ever I'm nearer to, also the one in Seymour I travel three states so its kind of variable, they all have it and other wines.. They have an Aldi's version of Baileys Irish Cream and a couple of merlots and rhine wines too

Since you mentioned Aldi's Irish cream- I have to say, the Brits do much better in the ad department than we do here. I watched a bunch of these- hilarious.

Robin, next to the wine and beer at Aldi's is the chocolates section. Check out the Moser Roth chocolates. Look for the dark chocolate with chili pepper one! They'll look similar to this:

We have about 3 of those Moser Roth bars a week... the dark chocolate with the chili is our favorite
