I'm sorry, but this whole situation is ridiculous. Wait, I'm not sorry. I really do think this is ridiculous, and I'm not sorry that I think that way. So sorry, to make you think I'm sorry when I'm not really sorry. And you better not misinterpret any of this. Or you will be sorry.

I'm sorry, but I think that it is vaguely clear that you are not sorry at all!

I just wanna say that I lived in Belgium. My sister still does. 25 years and running. This has no effect on my opinion of AP Crafters. :)

Troy, That is MS. Bitch to you, and Marsha the lengthy post about the restaurant was cut and pasted from the AP kitchen website.

While Heather's words may have been harsh they at least read to me like a critique of practice and not like there was any personal motivation involved. Unlike some other things that have been posted around here that barely attract a raised eyebrow.

Edit: and yes I did read them before they were deleted.

Gee, and I thought I was the only one who noticed a general increase in rudeness and snarkiness around here lately and it is getting tiresome..

My personal obsession continues... had a delightful meal last night. Food service was a little slow, but a round of drinks on the house made up for it.

The group made it's way through most of the drinks menu, so if you are curious, here are my impressions on what I can remember:

Grape Pop: Comes in a martini glass, tastes like a Welch's grape soda. Dangerously good. The grapes floating in the bottom are also delightful.

Rocket Pop: Layered drink, looks awesome... stir it up and it tastes awesome as well. This was a fan favorite at the table.

Moscow Mule: Oprah was right, it is fantastic... I made my a Kentucky Mule by replacing the vodka with bourbon... it was an improvement for me, but the wife preferred the original.

Cucumber Drink (no idea the name): Refreshing... basically just an adult version of cucumber water. I wouldn't order it, but I enjoyed a taste.

The Housewife: Didn't try it myself, but the girl who got it loved it.

Revitalizing Drink (not it's real name): Tasted too much like Red Bull for my taste... everything else was good, but the red bull aftertaste brought it down.

John Daly: This was the big disappointment on the night for me... tasted like watered down cheap vodka to me. Needs more lemon at least, and possibly a stronger tea to balance it out.

AP Dark: My friend said it was good, didn't try it... he preferred it to the AP Light.

Pineapple Passion (I think): Meh. It was OK, but not great. The pineapple slice tasted like cheap vodka... the drink itself was very sweet.
There are a few drinks left to try... I will get it done!

The table voted the fried cheese curds the best appetizer... we had 8 people and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. Service has definitely improved, even with the delay in getting the food.

Richard was a great waiter... we had lots of fun and will be back.

Then again, I've been there 4 times in 7 days, so maybe I'm a little obsessed.

Your results may vary.

Edit:

On a positive note. My husband and I had dinner at A.P. Crafters on Family and Friends night. Staff was very friendly and our meal was very good. My husband has had lunch a few times in the past couple of weeks, while finishing the installation of all the electronics, including the audio/video, and DirecTV. He has raved about his meal to me everytime he has had lunch. Tony sent a donut home for me last night and I really like the caramel sauce. We are looking forward to going back (without our 10 yr old mcnugget loving daughter). We wish Tony and staff the best for a succesful business with A.P's and more in the future.

Yep! We've been back quite a few times, now. The kinks have been worked out, and pretty much universally the food has been great.

We've enjoyed good food and service on review visits.

Reports of poor service seem surprising to me, as that's not typical of Tony's establishments.

Phhhh, really? Come on, it must just be me, and my family members, and my friends. etc.
The service is STILL over indulgent and unresponsive to requests, and offering incentives that have expired for the evening. i.e. "Happy hour", " oh, sorry that stopped ten minutes ago", " oh well, that is the ONLY reason I agreed to sit in the bar area with my 19 year old was for the incentive. I think the hostess was younger than 19 as well. duh. I made no bones with the server and accepted that, it just so happened that we ordered Pretzels with beer cheese, and I ordered an IPA before dinner. Redemption:
I had every intention of paying full price when the server came back and told me they would honor the Happy hour price.

I did not mention that in a review, and I have been back to the restaurant since then.
However, I notice that the waitstaff, and hostess staff are kids that MY kids went to school with and they are all in "summer jobs" and not true restaurant people. Thus, trying too hard to please. uugh.

(My kid worked for Boombozz in H.S. )

I am hoping that it tones down just a little, because I like the food, and it seems that it is a centrally located restaurant for most people, and will do well.
