I'll take some of Steve's BBQ inside of one of Matt's grilled cheese, spread the wealth. Smoky pig, melted cheddar, and jalapenos sound good to me.

Steve I am not quite sure why you have set your sights on me but if you think you can hammer me then bring it on. All I see right now is a weekend warrior peddling BBQ out of a camper van with store bought smokers. If all you are going to offer people is something they already have in their backyard then you arent going to crush me.

If you want to hammer me then bring your 182 facebook fans and bring the pain :) And if you want to resort to stealing business then I guess that shows people what you are really about.

Personally if you COULD do it you would have already.

Chill guys. For god sakes, its not that big of a deal. I for one would like the oppurtunity to announce any specials I'm having day to day on some other format other than Facebook and Twitter ( particularity Hotbytes, but I never imagined or thought that was what this forum was about...not just advertising space. With that in mind, I don't care how hip or trendy the food truck business is, and you can come park in my lot any time you want and I'll still out sell all three of the trucks put together... but that's another story. Let the chips fall where they may and may the best food win. I mean this is old news in most major markets and twitter is the way to go. Find your own way, but don't take up forum space for freebies. With that said, I'm happy to see the spirit and enthusiasm of the Truckies, but give all of us an equal shot at the same audience. I sure Robin would see the fairness in that and give us all the same chance. And get a sense of humor...please!

Dude....Take a pill, I'm a prankster...it's what I do. I yammer. You just happen to appear at the top of the hit list today. Trust me, by tomorrow, I will have forgotten all about you and whatever it is you are doing.

To be totally honest here, I have NO...as in Zeeeee-ro interest in ever (ever !!!) going "public" with my culinary endeavors (beyond hosting a couple of parties at home and cooking a couple of low brow contests with a few mouth breathing hillbillies...Who I might add are damn good folks, despite the fact that some of 'em don't have a full set of teeth). My hobby is nothing more than a distraction from day to day life. That being said, if you can make money selling grilled cheese ...out of a truck....Well I guan-fricking-TEE you I could make money selling BBQ out of a camper with store bought smokers....Just sayin'.

Matt Davis wrote:If you want to hammer me then bring your 182 facebook fans and bring the pain :) And if you want to resort to stealing business then I guess that shows people what you are really about.

Actually Matt, I'm up to 184 "Likes" now on the Rolling Bones Facebook page...lets not cheat me out of those extra two "fans"...and if you go on that page and read between the lines, you'll discover that I'm actually a fun loving guy who really doesn't give a lotty-damn-dotty about getting (really) serious about something that is meant to be a pleasurable diversion. Some folks want to kick it up, that extra notch...Me ? I just enjoy the "smack talk" and a cold beer.

Matt Davis wrote:Personally if you COULD do it you would have already.

Actually Matt...I COULD do it...Thing is I don't WANT to do it....and most importantly...I don't NEED to do it. Now, if you will forgive me, I'm 5 beers into a six pack and number six is calling my name.

Ya'll make sure to visit that Rolling Bones Facebook page now. Ya never know when we'll be in your neighborhood.

There's always room for one more opinion, right? Well I didn't have much of one to round out a post until I read "Suzanne's" post (get an account, Bill!). Bill P. also helped mold my feeling about it, despite it's curmudgeonly nature. I wish every restaurant member on here prosperity and growth, but the more free-ad is tolerated/propogated, the more swollen it becomes. I agree that trucks are trendy and all the rage, so post the link suggested to their own sites close to the home page with all the other sites. Some of the interest with trucks is the fortune of stumbling upon them or the mystique with the seek and find / follow up discussion. It's their responsibilty to advertise and utilize social media as it is everyone else's. The main motive behind my opinion is to avoid a new entitlement to forum solicitation (at least one offender comes to mind).

***editted to say sorry to Matt for Steve P. being mean. As much as I love that dude, I didn't think you deserved it and I totally understand your defense. He's a prankster, but that may not be your arena and this IS supposed to be a civil forum. Sorry St. Eve!

Thanks Jackie.

Im done with this thread honestly.

Robin if my opinion is worth something dont treat us any differently than you treat regular restaurants. I want to earn my respect around here. I have no issues with being "normal"

If Matt is already working on an online calendar, there really isn't any need for Robin to put in the work on something that will soon be superfluous.

True, although Matt will have to build traffic for his calendar, while HotBytes already has the traffic. I just want to help, frankly, and I'm a bit surprised that some people don't like the idea of making information about food trucks available. Hello? Food trucks aren't like restaurants. They move around. Remember, one of Louisville's most characterful restaurants, Mayan Cafe, got its start as a big blue taco truck back in the '90s, and people followed it around to construction sites.

Robin,

It seems like you yourself are for having that info posted on here, so I say go for it. People that dont want it, dont have to click on it.
