There's another one of those phrases that should be banned.

So basically, if we were to have ditched "exercise" we could have added 15 minutes each to reading and writing...a 50% increase.

Special Area :?

"Herding Cats".....Mmmmmmm....I'm not sure you can say that.

Oh...and BTW...Thanks for what you do. Everyone knows you all have your hands tied in many respects.

I'm thankful for teachers willing to take the brunt of parental storms and politics for education. More than this, I'm thankful for people not in education trying to change the system to policies they believe will work.

BUT this is getting out of hand and not relevant to the topic at hand. Needless to say, I just returned home and the roads are getting quite hazardous. So, to dismiss the schools early today, was indeed a good decision.

Kyle,
I may have missed a post or two in this thread but I don't believe after the decision was made to start classes in the first place that anyone felt the the decision to close early was incorrect.

I sincerely believe this thread is probably the longest one on Hotbytes that isn't dealing with a food topic! Of course also (maybe because of this) it hasn't digressed into one of our favorite topics like chains, tipping, etc.!

Everyone needs to be congratulated for their good behavior :!:

My principal was out the day you responded so I talked to her yesterday and she's leaving it up to me to decide. I'm thinking 2/22 so we'll have time to get a bunch of parents. I was waiting to figure out a time before I replied.

And you're right. I was merely inserting my own opinion on the matter and not that anyone had said otherwise. :)

Yes it was. And yes the roads are bad.

My daughters and i discussed all day about the pro's and con's about this day, we are in Jeffersonville and classes were canceled. But, it is like others have said, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

But, i would rather have them home safe instead of on the dangerous roads on the way home. Mind you, all it takes is ONE silly driver.

My husband works close to Indy and three men carpool up there. They have encountered numerous accidents and day of all days the poor man whose vehicle they take up there has broken down. The roads are dangerous and irresponsible drivers make them more dangerous.

In all the years i have been with my husband i do not think i have waited for his arrival from work as i am today. I was making dinner and i just stopped. I'm just sitting here waiting.

I hope your husband arrives home soon. That is one hell of a commute even in good weather..

You forgot craft beer. Please don't drink locally brewed craft beer and drive (a school bus).

Thanks Robin.... much appreciated. Their 1 1/2 hour commute turned into five today. But, they made it home thank God... and i really mean that.

Tomorrow will be another day and i hope everyone that heads out on the roads will be safe.

Nope...can't do it. We've got a long way to go. We haven't talked about Fois Gras yet...or crappy service...or ice/no ice.
