I've eaten a ton of Mazzoni's rolled oysters and I'd say that between the corn syrup and the oatmeal, that ain't them.

The John Finley recipe sounds closer to what may be the authentic rolled oyster from Mazzoni's.

If you do, Bob, I'll be glad to give you my honest opinion how it compares to Mazzoni's version. With all respect, I'm pretty sure the Kip's Cove version and the Mazzoni's version would have made an ... interesting ... competition. Not criticizing the cook here, just saying that a 140-year-old family tradition has roots.

Would love your opinion on the Oysters when we start them. We are thinking Lent season, we started our hand-breaded Cod Fish the lent season of 09, and then add it to our regular menu . Will keep in touch .

Easter is really, really late this year, so that means Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday will be late too. Can't wait!
