I actually like Wick's pizza a lot (I know, I know, but like Robin said, it's all subjective) but that article summed up perfectly what makes Papalino's a better place, and why I never go to Wick's unless I'm really craving their pizza: attitude. Even at their busiest, the staff at Papalino's has (so far) always been incredibly friendly. While at Wick's, most of the staff act as if they're doing you a favor by talking to you. And don't even get me started on Spinelli's. When word about Paplino's first circulated here in the Highlands, several people I talked to expressed a hope that they would drive Spinelli's out of business. It seems everyone has a horror story about the service there.

And btw, I agree with several of the above posters: Louisville has a lot of great pizzas (including Danny Macs) but the best pizza in the area is, hands down, the upside down pizza at the New Albanian.

That's a pretty subjective statement as well.

We haven't tried them all in the 2 years we've lived here but we've certainly tried enough to have come to the interim conclusion that Louisville has a lot of pizza places where their popularity exceeds their product.

Just my subjective cents.

My husband would agree with you Steve P.!

Honestly, Papalino's is the only pizza in town that he will eat.

My husband would agree with your husband and Steve! He is a major pizza snob, having worked in this downright amazing pizza place where he's from.

Nothing has beaten Luigi's for me, no way, no how. Unfortunately, though, I can't get to Luigi's ever, so I frequent Boombozz. Love it for very different reasons. If I am craving something approaching Luigi's-type pizza, Papalino's does the trick since Luigi's doesn't do dinner.

(And Heather, love your Berry quote.)

Thanks Antonia! My husband is an Italian Jersey boy - and he like Papalino's from the start but what REALLY sent him over the edge is the homemade sausage with lots of FENNEL in it!

I grew up on Pizza Hut (hey I'm from Shively) but as I got older and started finding new places, even new styles, traveled and made my own pizzas I luckily discovered the plethora of awesome places we have here. Even I have a soft spot for the some "lower quality" Little Ceasar's and Gatti's from time to time. I'd have to say currently my rankings go....

NABC, Richo's, Sportstime, Fossils whatever they call it this week :P
Papalino's
Windy City
CPC
Impelizzeri's
Boomboz
Luigi's
Clifton's (when I want to clog my arteries with a 9 cheese pie)
Spinneli's
Za's
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.
