After talking with Andrew Hutto we are going to have the Burgoo Throwdown on Sunday June 6 (D-Day). Time, format and rules will come about when we get an estimate on participants. Essentially we are going to have this open to the public ala Phoenix Hill Chili Cookoff(no charge for admission and sampling) with hopefully a pro and amateur division depending on the numbers. We may need some volunteers for set-up and clean-up. It will all depend upon the number of throwdownwers (huh). I will go to the off-line planner to keep everyone up to date and adjustments to the throwdown. (transporter room, beam me over there).
Unlike most of you, I am not a nut, but I do roast em.

Mark,

If there's no admission price, how are we making money? ( and paying for the Sunday special license).. Are we asking for donations?

Yeah, I'd like some input on that too. The idea of building a crowd is great, but historically, we've been committed to providing an appropriate non-profit a nice chunk of change, and doing that by assessing a reasonable admission fee of which 100 percent goes to the charity.
