It does a good bit. I moved back in last 1994. I think it was fall of 95 or spring of 96 when some friends were in town and we wanted to go someplace with good beer. Thats when I discovered The Silo was closed (not sure if this was between owners or after it closed for good...but it was pre-Jillians, but not by much, IIRC). I know we ended up at BBC.

So did a lot of good people. They are still rocking today because it really is about the beer.

According to the commerical I heard this morning, the Kilt is now open. They have big screen TVs, pool tables, cold beer, and the hottest servers in Louisville. I don't remember them saying anything about food, go figure.

Went there for lunch yesterday with the head of our security on Sunday nights ( he is going to provide them with police officers on weekends ) and WOW !!, I really liked how the layout of the restaurant / bar is designed.
Do not know how many televisions were in the building, but I can see them having a real strong crowd when football and basketball get rolling.
Downstairs where the cigar room used to be when it was Oldenberg is now a V.I.P. bar with bottle service I believe.
The Cardinal vs. Reds were on ( day game ) and the clarity of the 2 wide screen H.D. projectors was superb.
Met with one of the managing partners, they are also going to open in Newport, Lexington, and Bowling Green in the near future.

Sell your Hooters stock if you own any....

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Dude. They have to be very selective in that hiring process. Very eye opening. Went for a friend's birthday party last night, and he can rock a kilt for sure! He was commisioned to do a huge plaster crest that is hanging downstairs (called under the kilt I think). My friend and I just ordered the crispy clam strips and spinach/artichoke dip. Everyone else's food looked ok, and nobody was complaining about it. I wasn't there to be adventurous, so I was psyched that they were very good large and tender strips! Geoduck? Dunno but they were great. Had a hendricks n tonic w/ cucumber syrup and lemon. Good cocktail. The spin dip was okay, but my neighbor's fish n chips looked pretty out of a box breaded.
Management must encourage the ladies to sit down to take the orders. When I looked out over the very open floor plan there was lots of that going on. It's definitely a scottish hooters, but with lots of male bartenders in black kilts (also easy on the eyes), and much better food. There was a complementary valet which was good, because there were no spots to be found and Texas roadhouse is very possessive of their spots in the shared lot! Will go back if asked to meet people there, but that's about it.

Hubby and a bunch of guys from his work went to the Tilted Kilt for lunch, he described it as "entertaining but frustrating." It took a long time to get food, 45 minutes for most of the table, service was very poor but given it's the first week and they hired models not servers, it may take a bit to get the kinks worked out. He said food was okay, no real complaints, but nothing to tell a friend about either...but I've been working on refining his palate of late!

We were casting about for dinner, once I mentioned the Tilted Kilt was open, the boys had to go. Still a bit rough in the service area, food OK, packed and LOUD. Not as bad as I thought it would be, would go again if I was in the neighborhood. I ran into a friend there that said he had been at one in Las Vegas and thinks once they get over the opening, it will be fine. Not as much management on site as I have seen at other chains during opening weeks, or maybe they were BOH dealing with that. We liked the Irish Nachos, a different twist. The burger came as ordered and pronounced good, the lasagne was dispatched swiftly and my Gaelic Chicken had good flavor though the "cream sauce" was very thin.

Some of the servers seemed to linger over long at tables with young men, but ours was attentive to all her station from my viewpoint.

The most amusing part of the evening was watching the Texas Road House employees trolling "their" section of the lot, glaring and watching what direction people went in when they exited their cars. I did not see a tow truck lurking, so I wonder what they did if someone parked in the wrong spot. The attitude I saw in those folks could convince me not to patronize their establishment. :?

Texas Roadhouse has been on a roll for quite awhile...a little head-to-head competition will do 'em some good .. .

During the day, Tilted Kilt was advising customers to move their cars because Texas was towing. I can understand they want their customers to have parking and it could hurt their business if people can't park there, but at the same time most of those going to Tilted Kilt likely go to Texas too. Tricky situation, but there is some truth to that word of mouth backfiring. Tick a person off, they are going to tell 10, make them happy and they may tell 2.
