Carol and I had lunch there today. Entrance from Main is onto the first floor which is far, far longer than wide. Think shotgun house. The walls are old brick. The lights over the bar are from Joe Ley. The floor appears original. The very, very long bar is new and ornate. Custom made wood trim is well done and posters of Irish notables grace one wall. Designating the Main Street as the front, the area closest to Main will be a coffee bar in the morning and a spill over area at night. First coffee service begins next Tuesday at 6 AM. The bar area is centered with booths and tables in the back. The kitchen is at the Washington Street end. At the back there is a large open ornate staircase that leads to the second floor with a bar and additional seating; this area is not open yet. Patrick's will open at 11 AM and close at 4 AM six days a week closing on Sunday. There are multiple banks of draft taps. It appears that there are about 20 different beers with multiple taps in some kegs. The selection is Flanagan's like. Ashley is doing the beers. The menu appears two or three times larger than the other O'Shea places with more higher and lower end items including pizzas. I had a pork shank with roasted root vegetables and potatoes. The portion was huge and the taste and presentation were excellent. The O'Sheas have hit a home run and this place will be very popular. It was jammed last night and they needed 7 bartenders.
