Les Nomades is one of my favorite French restaurants in the country.Nacional 27 is a fun place for cocktails, but I would go to De La Costa for Nuevo Latino food.I wish I had a space like theirs.Douglas Rodriquez is the Chef/Owner. He is credited for starting the whole Nuevo Latino trend. They call him the Mambo King of Nuevo Latino.I have taken many familia and staff to his restaurants all over the country.Miami,Chicago,NYC,Phili. and Arizona. I'm proud to say our food at Seviche is right up there or better. This comes from alot of guest and staff. I've got Douglas in a choke hold. Just kidding!

FYI, Andrew suggested Chicago magazine for advice--here's a link to their May issue, which contained an article on the Best New Restaurants:

My wife and I went to Chicago last weekend to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We had a great time. The first night we went to Giordano's for stuffed pizza. It was fantastic. The garlic bread with cheese was even better. If they are busy, like they were, you can order your pizza before you sit down. They say this is because it takes so long to cook. My issue was what if we have to wait 30min. vs. 1h and 30min. Is our pizza going to be just waiting? But everything was great and I would go back. The second day of our visit we went to Navy pier to walk around and have an authentic Chicago dog. We went to American dog or somthing like that on the pier. Awful, the hotdog was cold and there was so much celery salt on it that was all you could taste. For dinner that night we went to Keefer's steakhouse on a reccomendation from one of my professors at UofL. He said it was operated by a guy from Lexington. It was ranked as one of the best steakhouses by Playboy several years ago I think. Everything was a-la-carte as most steak houses around the area. I had the house salad and went with the bleu cheese (my favorite if it is fresh) rather than the suggested mustard vinagrette. The salad was good but the bleu cheese was very strong which I liked but not the mild type I was used to. My wife got the lettuce wedge with thousand Island. The dressing had too many sweet pickles but not bad. I got the Rib-eye and my wife had the Filet and we both agreed they were the best steaks we have ever had. Cooked perfect and so tender. Unbelievable. The augratin potato sides we both had were in my opinion OK. My wife loved them. The total bill after a couple of beers, glass of wine and tip was $150. High but I will return for the steaks when I am back in town.
The only regret from the trip was that I didn't try an Italian beef sandwich. We had such a great time Im sure our next trip will be soon and I will try this other Chicago speciality.
