Tim and I are on the tentative list. Have no idea what I will bring, can figure something out closer to then. Will be glad to help out with the plates, plasticware and napkins.

Madeline,

I updated the guest list to add you and Tim.

It's starting to look like a salad or side dish of some sort might be something that we might need...but you be the judge, it is after all a "pot luck" of sorts.

I think I will also be able to make it! Yay!

I'd be happy to fill in the empty slots of anything we may need, just let me know. You know me, I'll probably also bring some kinda foodie novelty, or whatever grabs me at the time...

Well......I've settled on bringing my interpretation of Beef Bourguignon. I call it Beef Ernest Borgnine because I can't spell bourguignon without looking it up every time and I like Ernest Borgnine. Oddly enough, I have no other regular recipes in my rotation named after B list actors. Sad.

You just gave me the idea for my novelty dish. The taco truck in my neighborhood is this place called 'Ma Patria.' Right next to Liqour World on Lyndon Ln. Total bodega. They have a more limited selection of sundries, but there is a proper kitchen in the back and they have display warming tables out front. They do chicharones, daily. I can get the skin, still warm (yum!) Like 3 bucks for 1/2 side, or so- 3' of warm and fresh pork rinds that you just break off, like rustic Italian bread.

I'm thinkin we break this in half and dust 1 with sumac sugar (thanks!) and the other part with some blend using my habanero powder in a blend (adobo?)

At the King Louis Dinner, Chef Hargrove and I traded utensils: he picked up my larding needle and I aquired his fine-mesh sieve (small.) I plan to use his utensil before we meet again at his speakeasy on Dec 6 (Victorian Christmas, go on brother!)

Hehe, I hope Patria is open on Sundays!

All,

This just in...

Chris from Selena's wanted to help raise a few extra dollars for KY Harvest and has offered to donate a $50 gift card for dinner at Selena's to be raffled off at the Hotbytes Pot Luck. Great idea Chris !!!...Thanks to you (and all of the staff at Selena's) for your thoughtfulness.

Yet to be confirmed but there may be a similar "donation" coming in from another one of our independent gems...
