You know, there is a lot about Louisville that is original. I don't think EVERYTHING has to be original.

A good mix of chains and local places is important, and M&S has a certain cache that accompanies it. It's just like having Morton's, Ruth's Chris etc. Like Nordstroms. Like a lot of other things.

Besides, if there was such a scramble by our local restaurant community to provide a high end seafood restaurant I would think someone would have at least attempted to undertake it.

Good point. There was a post a while back by one of the local restaurateurs who said that these chains get financial incentives, but when he applied for them he was denied or ignored. Was that Peng Looi?

Z's has a lot of good seafood, but there is a difference between serving seafood and specializing in seafood.

A lot of our higher end local places serve great (GREAT) seafood, but I wouldn't call any of them "seafood restaurants".
