Why don't y'all start a "name that place" poll

Seems to me he was singled out perhaps because they KNEW he worked in a restaurant and how DARE he show up at that hour, etc. Anyone else get that vibe from Joey?

I want to know so that next time I dine at Joey's restaurant I can scarf down my food to make sure that I am out the door before closing time.

MattF: Your Wallace Shawn image provides a most elegant rejoinder to the debauched ramblings of one prominent poster in this thread.

I'd like to see this entire thread reacted at the door of the place during
peak service. Joey could play the part of The Service Nazi.

I found this particular line Joey to be particularly troubling:

This leads to 2nd lollly gagging as if the place is his and carrying about a romantic or braggadoccio whim therefore to be treated by the staff in 'su majeste mentality' because he works at a high profile place.

god forbid someone should take a date out to a restaurant and linger over dinner with that person.

I just read this whole post - what a riot! I wonder if Joey partakes of the same mentally illuminating drugs as the late, lamented Hunter S. Thompson in the sixties, seventies, etc...only with adverse effects! At least Thompson wrote something understandable!
Jeremy, I posted on two rather bothersome experiences recently, trying to keep them unnamed, however, naming them did cause some constructive responses and, in the end, I'm glad I did. Please reconsider...it will help all your fellow forumites in the event they dine at this establishment and end up being served by Joey. Since the owner/manager obviously also made a horrendus decision that night, bringing it into the open may give him the opportunity to redemm himself. Otherwise he gets away with being a rude jerk.

One may linger over a meal, Ron but lollygagging is never allowed. Before you know it an evening out could be misconstrued as malingering and heaven knows what that could lead to.

I need to check the Kentucky Revised Statutes, but I think lollygagging may even be a Class D misdemeanor. :o

My question would be Jeremy; What was the posted time for this establishment to close? Midnight? 11? When? You don't specify or was it implied by your pumpkin remark? I find it particularly important to know that little tidbit. You were seated at 9:45 and the manager said something at 11:45. I may be a different kind of person but that seems like an excessive amount of time to stay at a normal eatery, there are many exceptions of course. If they closed at 12, you coming in at 9:45 would not warrant contempt from a waiting staff. If they closed at 11, maybe, but not very likely unless the person wanted to get out of there early. Which also means that you were there 45 minutes past closing time, which means you would suck. If they closed at 10, I think I would have to punch you in the face for staying until 11:45. :P That's why I am not in the hospitality business anymore, ha! Seriously though, you probably wouldn't have seen any disdain from me. I would be calling you everything under the sun out of earshot though, depending on that posted closing time of course.

You went there on thursday? That's funny, your post was on thursday at about 11:25 am in the morning....Thursday morning. You also state that you went to this restaurant the night before, which would make that, wednesday. That is very interesting. To refresh if you dont want to go back to the beginning of the thread

PostPosted: Thu May 10, 2007 11:25 am Post subject: Hospitality?

and a quote

"Last night I had an opportunity to leave work by nine, which is a rare treat for me. I thought that a dinner out was deserving, still not having taken a day off since Derby. I hate being that last guest in the dining room and try to avoid it at all costs, but I was willing to risk it for a good dinner in a welcome environment. "

What website would that be? I am not taking your word for it considering the inconsistencyabove, I would have to see the site. Not to say that they still didnt close late of course.

If it is Asiatique, they close at 10:30 on Wednesday. That would not look too good for Jeremy being that he was there at 11:45 and showed up at 45 minutes to close. That would look very bad indeed. Would make Asiatique look good for even staying open an extra hour and 15 minutes!!! to accommodate. But I know not where so I can't really say.
