I don't think Jack Fry's was mentioned because it's anything but quiet and romantic. I think we all thought that she was looking for something a little quieter and more romantic for a dinner with her boyfriend. That was also brought up as a reason Havana Rumba probably wouldn't work. I do agree however that the food there is always very good and although crowded and noisy the atmosphere is fun especially since the smoking ban was instituted.

No Longer Old Louisville

I'm assuming your significant other is not a soft talker?

East End outside of the Watterson, but not afraid to travel for good grub
TrishaW wrote:Geez...ok...the bf decided since our other plans got changed by necessity that we should just go out TOMORROW NIGHT (NEW YEAR"S EVE!!) for our dinner since the sitter is already set, etc.
Do you know how ridiculous it is to try reservations tonight for tomorrow night? MANY places still have reservations available but are only serving their special menus. Corbett's 7 course menu sounds wonderful but is $100 per person. Equus is 5 courses for $85. Proof is alittle above that range, but their menu didn't appeal to me so much anyway. Limestone sounds nice still. I would have definitely reserved a table at Le Relais, but all reservations (even for a party of 2 late in the evening) are all booked. Doesn't look like that budget of $150 will cover it anywhere tomorrow night.
Suggestions? Especially from anyone (and alot here do) that work in the industry?
