Looks like East Market is starting to crumble...

Listen Everyone...We have got to stop doing this. The overall tone of this thread has been as if the world is ending. And you know what? Shuffle through some more of the similar threads and they sound the same. Yes...it is unfortunate that SOME restaurants will not be able to weather this storm. But you know what? A lot are! To hear someone say that East Market is crumbling just goes to show how often that person is actually down here.

You're right, I don't get a chance to get down to East Market very often, although the Mayan Cafe is a couple of times a year thing (we were big Mayan Gypsy fans). When I was there for the Volksfest, the area seemed pretty empty when it got dark. I guess I had a limited impression of the area, primarily from closings listed in these forums. Thanks for the correction.

BTW, which restaurant is yours? We don't get to eat out much anymore with a kid and me being out of work, but I'd like to give it a try when we can. Id bet your passion about East Main bleeds over into the restaurant side.

Sorry about being a negative nancy - I was trying to express my sorrow of losing another Louisville local and probably didn't phrase it as well as I could.

I would talk about it here, but we seem to be still tweaking the concept. Making it better everyday.
