I personally love easy parking. For example, it's a total pain to try and get in El Mundo on busey night because there's no damn parking on Franfort Ave. I don't try as often as I used too. Bardstown Road is a bit easier.
As a bit of background...I lived on Lucia in the Highlands for about 10 years. I know that area and could navigate it blindfolded (I staggered home blind a few nights when I lived there too). When I married and began raising my family we moved just outside the Watterson off 42. We virtually never eat chains so it's the locals out this way or we make the trek into town. Unfortunately the economy is stuttering just as more and more locals move out my way. The dining scene has improved drastically over the past 3 or 4 years this side of the Watterson, I hope a few more brave souls like Chef Lamas will give it a go. So IMO it's not us versus them.....but then some of us are just mongrals.
