The real loss is what has happened to most Americans over the last 8 years. I lost my job. Has anyone else? Even if you haven't, has your lifestyle changed?

If you're contributing to a "foodie" forum your lifestyle can't be too bad.
this is simply not true for more reasons than i care to list
also, THE best food has and will always come from those that utilize what they have on hand to provide for their friends and loved ones
just because you have passion/interest/knowledge about food & beverage does not mean you live on easy street
imho

Didn't say a word about easy street. But if you are on a food forum...I have to assume you are eatting.

lots of folks with all sorts of interests are feeling the crunch. not just the ones with money.
assuming one is eating would only be assuming they are not starving, which would have no bearing on their 'lifestyle'
but you have the right to your opinion too.

Hmm, fell in love, got married, saw my dad die from cancer, welcomed our son into the world, struggled as a small business owner in a overloaded field (printing) to stay afloat, beat depression, got to welcome a neighbors son back from OEF twice, found lots of cool 'new to us' places to eat because of this forum, became a donor, and found time to ride more than 150 different roller coasters. Ups and downs, but life goes on. I also can't discount my personal stress reduction program of things I cut out or down on: not believing what the drive-bys say, TV in general but racing in particular, and finding a way to laugh more at life/myself.
