Hey Doogy- I've got a Creekstone Angus Sirloin with all the trimmings for $18 and I'd put it up against anyplace in town! Stop in and I'll buy you one on me! That offer also holds true for Robert as well-DaveDoogy R wrote:Richard S. wrote:Without regard to how Robert likes his steak cooked, this conversation has taken a decidedly elitist turn from the question the original posted asked. The implication seems to be that if a steak isn't priced at $28 or more it isn't worth eating. Look down your nose if you must, but I think TR's quality is just as good, if not better, than anyone else serving an identical grade of beef.
I've been to places where you can get a steak dinner and all the fixin's for under $20 and I've been to the nicest places in town. The main difference is the service and ambience. There may be a slight difference in the quality of the beef, but is that difference really worth $100 just for the meat alone? To me it's not, bit for that special night out or such things as that, the ambience and service may be worth the stratospheric prices.

For the record, the Creekstone Angus steak I had at BNA on my review visit was, I believe, the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. Anywhere.

Well, "tastes just fine" is a matter of palette, of course. There's quality, and then there's QUALITY.

Dave, I'm not a gold digger, but I would like to take you up on your offer. Let me know when and where. Heck, maybe Robert will join us as well. In addition to your offer, I challenge Robert to come over there with me and get his steak done medium well instead of well done. So, let's see what happens.
