C'mon Robin, I KNOW you can do better than that. Or do you not want to show favoritism toward any one dining establishment? That is understandable, of course.

More a matter of doing a bunch of design work without really having time to go out and shoot our own local pie. Taken under advisement, though ... we might play around with just that thing later on. Or even swap in a different pizza from time to time. :)

Robin

In the new forum, I notice that some threads have a small red * and others have a scrolling on the topic symbol. Most have neither.

Do not understand what this means.

The star means you've posted in that thread. The "bubbling" icon means a hot topic - one with lots of replies.

Do not understand what this means.

Is that an order, or do you have something against pronouns?

under "User Control Panel" language can only be set as British English?

is this a phpBB option that is the only option opposed to American english...

not that i'm opposed to spelling words like "color" as "colour" but...

you know what i mean.

also... under "User Control Panel/Board Preferences/Edit Display Options"
What does "Enable Word Censoring" filter?

does this mean all us kitchen-folk with potty mouths can no start speaking/tying in what we see as "plain English" (aka "Kitchen Speak", aka "...excuse my kitchen French") and a panoply of 4-letter words, since users who may/might be offended by them can filter them out with little or no regard to not offending anyone?

under normal casual (under the cuff) dialog situations, dropping an "F-bomb" is often times a suitable substitute for a comma in verbal conversations for some of us.
...not that i'm raring to go... but just wondering the limits of free speech. :?

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

At the moment, British English is the only language available for phpBB3. As best I can determine, this preference manifests itself ONLY as "colour" and nowhere else, so it's pretty much a non-issue.

The forum software permits a Nanny Filter, but by my option it is not activated. The option you see is thus non-working because there's no word censoring to turn off.

I don't believe in censorship either, so we have no argument here. ;) I do believe that participants should try to behave well, and I don't mind a little community peer pressure when necessary. But word filter? We don't need no ****ing word filter. ;)

It does not hold your login status and creates headaches.

See his subject line. He's talking about the alternate front door, http://www.wldg.com, which may be used as an alternate login for those who have office nanny filters that don't like the wineloverspage.com domain. I expect there's a problem there with the forum cookies not matching the domain.

Jay, the bots are also known as spiders - the search engines, roaming the Web, collecting everything out there. This software shows them as users. Be sure to smile when they're looking!

Is there a way to get an RSS feed from just the Louisville Restaurants forum page, instead of just the main Hotbytes page ?

GG.

Gary, I miss it too! RSS is supposedly coming back soon in the form of a mod that we can and will install as soon as it's available.
