+1 for Casey.

The pies look like they are worth a trip down to my old nabe. I especially like how you actually bake them all the way. I am so tired of getting half-baked pizza. I love that blistered cheese and charred crust.

+ 2 for Casey

by Derrick Dones » Sat Jan 19, 2008 12:53 pm

Casey, thanks for the delivery all the way out to Hikes Point. I hope I made it worth your while, and I will certainly order again! The Vesuvius was very good, and quite an interesting flavorful pie. Now I want to try a traditional (red sauce, veggies and meat) pizza. Garlic knots might be the death of me...tons of butter and REAL garlic. Additionally, the Ceasar salad was nicely sized for the price and was perfect for my wife and I to split.

Keep up the good work Casey and crew...good luck. DD

not a problem at all, I'm glad you enjoyed your order, and thanks for your comments. I feel you on the garlic knots, try having them around you all day. As a matter of fact, I'm off to grab a few...

They got an announcement with a photo of their Southwestern pizza in "The Dish" in this week's Scene. Looks terrific!

Just noticed: So how come nobody here commented on the cigarette dangling from the lips of Raekwon the chef?

It's something about the context. It just seems like it belongs.

Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, left in '71 into the Army. Been in KY since '85 (with 3 additional years at Fort Knox in between) and am still considered a Yankee -- could it be the way I tawk?

Have you dined in NJ since the statewide smoking ban went into effect? it's quite the change.

Went back last week for a funeral. Ate at two Greek diners (on 46 amd 3), two Jewish delis (redundancy), and the "back room" of a tavern (mussels, pizza, and spaghetti aglio et olio). The biggest change was the tavern -- didn't really notice the difference until then.

Not sure why I hadn't read this thread before, but this has me craving some of this pizza while watching some playoff football. Alas, no Sunday hours... I will have to grab some later this week!
