You would thank that would apply to Maine, but I'm here to tell you that it took a good month of storms (usually called "October") before folks got even a little settled into the idea of winter there. And do they ever do their fair share of spazzing, which is evidenced by the fact one of the local weathermen has been given the nickname of "panics Mannix." Amazingly, two inches of snow can be enough to close the schools up there. Of course by the following May, snow is getting Really Old.
On the other hand, I grew up around Chicago where they have some
serious weather, and most folks there take it in stride. The fifteen mile commute that's an hour and a half in good weather becomes a four hour commute in the bad, but most everybody still goes to school and work.
