Re: Open letter to the food trucks

Food trucks started their rotation in the Med Ctr at AFW and Floyd on July 2. We took off the 4th of July, and we will not be there on July 9, because we're all committed to Main Street Monday. We also will not be there on July 24, because that's our regular Food Truck Tuesday on Jefferson St.

Other than those days, we're there. Come eat!! And spread the word!

Monday - Genius in a Box and Get it on a Bun at Booty's Diner (Booty's on vacation for a couple of weeks, so there might be a sub.)
Tuesday - Traveling Kitchen
Wednesday - Holy Mole and Black Rock Grill
Thursday - San Diego Sandwich Works and Dessert Truck
Friday - One Hot Tamale and Reds

Thanks for your support, truly.

With relatively limited choices in Frankfort for lunch and lots of people working in the Capitol and the Capitol Annex, it might be worth a look.

Thanks Ray, but not with the cost of gas and the low MPG our trucks get. Trucks tend to work close to home. Also, I think only one of us is licensed to work statewide. Generally we're only licensed for Jefferson County. We can get a temporary license for another county, but the event would need to be a large, guaranteed attendance type of event.

My Hubby got food from One Hot Tamale twice last week...think she was filling in for some one, one day...said the portions were huge and food was great also as soon as folks in his dept saw his food they all had to go get some for themselves! One girl had never had a "real" tamale before.

Yes, she picked up an extra day for someone who was on vacation. Glad to hear you liked it! I think Susan's tamales are really excellent!

Opportunity -> River Ridge Commerce Center (the old ammo plant) between Jeffersonville and Charlestown on Hwy 62.

Not much food available. Amazon just now opening distribution center with eventually 1300 hungry workers. Just sayin'.

Mary Anne, How much of a difference would it make if the trucks moved out onto Floyd?

You mean between Abraham Flexner and Muhammad Ali? Or up towards Chestnut? I don't know how that would fly. I know One Hot Tamale set up a couple times on Floyd between AF and Chestnut, you might ask how she found it to be. The major foot traffic runs down Abraham Flexner from Jewish to University...

I mean right at the corner of AFW and Floyd, but on the Floyd side of the corner.

Right at the corner would certainly catch all the foot traffic, and be very visible from the Med School...and a few feet closer to me :D

Will the food trucks continue in this area and just wondering how they did? Hubby said he thought they were always busy.. He loved having the different options for lunch.

Our permit was not renewed for Abraham Flexner Way. We're back to searching for meters.

Any idea what the problem was with that? Complaints from nearby landlocked merchants? The Jewish Hospital coffee shop?

I am sorry to hear that. It was wonderful for the Kosair folks I know. :(
