Let's not dig up old rotted garbage that we've long since forgotten, Steve. This ancient thread came back like a zombie. Let's leave it to rest. :)

So this has been a reminder for me that our "local vs chains" debate isn't as simple as even I like to make it. I indirectly know someone in management at this place. Now there is a family, who moved here, who have kids here, who have supported local schools asking the question of "What now?" They weren't even give a year to make this place work. Just a reminder that even when dollars go to some far off corporation, there are many people who live in Louisville whose lives are dramatically impacted when something like this happens. In the meantime, if you are looking for someone with this type of experience, I know a guy.

Kris, thanks for putting a personal perspective on the closing--we often forget the individuals and their families that are directly affected. Certainly hope your friend finds a position soon!

I'm pretty bummed to here this...Like Andrew we -always- enjoyed our visits to Champps. I will say the location kept us from going as often as we wanted to...I think they would have done much better in a far east-side location...at least until the area gentrified. 8)
