I don't know SteveP and I disagree with what he often posts, but the last thing I would use to describe him is "fake".

There are multitudes of "fake" posters here that won't post unless their view is in marching orders of Robin's bitter view of...Fuck chains and the Courier-Journal...FYI Robin is a fraud. As an example...Nice review on Chuy's. Way to get paid on a positive chain review even though you bash chains. Fuck chains, but that paycheck supporting them looked good... Fuck Chains...Nice TGIFridays adds on the forum. Fuck chains...I get paid to review restaurants yet I accept adverting dollars from restaurants on my forum Conflict of interest? What ....Have I ever given a bad review to any restaurant that paid me for advertising? What...The Courier-Journal issued a review to thousands? That isn't as influential to my forum's review from foodies.

Back to my point...SteveP speaks his mind regardless of the how the HotBytes cool kids will view his statements.

You, on the other hand, post 54,000 word posts and then logout , crack an over-priced beer and constantly refresh your browser waiting for someone to respond to your post. And your homoerotic relationship with you references to your friend "Chris" and obsession with Jackie, since you are a married man, are just fucking weird.

Maybe a little too much, Troy. I don't know you and you don't know Shane or myself, and this is too much. I'll happily retract this post if you want to retract yours due to shame of it's content. This was entirely too grotesque and offensive.

Wow...2 pages of posts, all over $5.48 Charcoal. Is it like a full moon or something ? Man I gotta go to bed, I'm gettin' swimmy headed.

My turn, Troy...

You think you are going to come here and run your mouth against this most August of bodies, simply because it's a public forum? You have it wrong, sir.

You have so much weight here- 35 posts and all. In fact, I don't remember anything you've said of consequence.

The big kids are talking here, son- best not to stand in the way.

Oh, wait! You already stepped on that one!

Seriously, announce your house so we all can avoid you like the plague- cause you're a bunch of rookies.

I have no dog in the fight- I love both men. You start messing with Robin, you got me to deal with sir. And I'm as loyal as a Rottweiler...

Oh wait! Your the big fella, Sysco rep. Slow in fullfilling orders. Like playing pattycake with a pachyderm...

Am I getting warm here?

Well, since it's a done deal... I'm having a VERY hard time determining just how to respond to accusations against my friend for his homoerotic male friendship, and inappropriate friendship with me - a GIRL. I posted two retracted responses because they were full of fuck bombs and emotions. But I'll say this and be done with it - you are out of line and have no idea what you're talking about, Troy. Regrading Shane, Robin and his bookkeeping, his friend Chris, and myself, you're just drumming up drama and hate.

I love a good argument and often take an opposite side with friends just for fun.
I can go on for days about the good of unions (I am in three) and the evil of Walmart, but I know full well that some unions create chaos and that even I will venture into Walmart for a real bargin.
I have no opinion on charcoal as I have never used it.
But really guys- who deserves all this childish bashing? You don't agree with Steve and his actions- fine, say so and be done with it. Personal attacks really have no place here, which I believe a number of members have said now.
Shayne- I like reading your opinions and comments but since you have started with the defaming remarks I see no reason why I should take you seriously again.
Troy- just leave! Now!
Robin has provided us all with a place to come and discuss and argue about food, beer, wine, Louisville and charcoal. You don't like the way he runs this forum- then get out.
I am the most profane person I know and you have offended me deeply with your words- and if I used that kind of language on this forum I'd tell you to...well I just edited it out.

Upon brief contemplation, I have to admit I'd love to have an American Walmart where I live.

If anyone's still interested in... ya know... charcoal, I'll share my experience with my local Wal-Mart (Chamberlain Lane).

I went in with the sole purpose of picking up a few bags of charcoal. I probably only go through 3-4 bags a year, so I figured I could pick up a couple and save about 20 bucks. When you first walk in, there are about six different kinds of charcoal on pallets all with prices clearly marked. None of this charcoal was the $5.48 charcoal, so it seems that they wanted me to think that this was all the charcoal they had in the store.

I walked past this stuff and went straight to L&G. There were pallets of charcoal along the back (with no prices). I saw a pallet that was nearly empty and figured this must be the $5.48 stuff. I pick it up and start wandering around the store looking for one of those self-serve price checkers for confirmation. I couldn't find one, so I ended up going to the register. The price was $14. At this point I figured it wasn't worth saving a few bucks and walked out.

Don't worry, everyone. I didn't buy anything else there. :)

Wow! The foodie forum turns into a Mexican soap opera again!
However, there hasn't been any mention of beer or pizza yet! The two other things that really seem to get the pot stirred up in these parts!
I know I've said this on many occasions, someone's online persona does not translate well into how they are in real life. Emoticons can't really replace the tone of someones voice and the facial expressions used in a face to face conversation.
Steve and Shane and their online personas are completley different. Sometimes Steve has the tendency to be a little bit of an antagonist, but always with the quick wink of an eye. I personally find it funny (kind of like this entire thread).
On the other hand, I enjoy Shane's fictionalized, (but based on fact) rambling, but entertaining posts just as much. Especally the one about the drunk birthday woman. :D
That being said, having had the privledge of sucking back a "few" cold ones with both of these gentlemen on more than one occasion, I firmly believe that all of this nonsense would be quickly forgotten and laughed about if the opportunity arose where they were at the same place at the same time and could conversate face to face.
Oh yeah how could I forget, Off to Wally World to gets me some cheap charcoal and I'll stop and get some Bud Select and Papa John's along the way! :P :P :P
Now back to your regularly scheduled program........

Jeez Robin you need to step out of LHB once in a while and get out in the land of internets. This is a common meme posted during an internet train wreck that signifies that one is just sitting back enjoying the show.

Used correctly it may elicit a chuckle or smile from other community members, but no it does not contribute to the train wreck of a thread, nor was it meant to.

As this point i would say this particular subject is not salvageable so best to either make light of it or delete the thread entirely.

See !!!....See ??? Just another example of The Man tryin' tah keep a brutha down. Similar thing at the Hillbilly Walmart where I "trade"...First day, I walked into L&G and there are -pallets- of this Kingsfood Charcoal...No price marked. So I go to the cashier and tell her I want to buy charcoal but there isn't a price shown...So she asks me "what do you think the price should be"  When I tell her 5..48 she give me this look that confirms I have uttered the secret password...and together we ring me up 10 bags. So I go back the -next- day (yesterday) and I go in the -front- door (I guess I secretly wanted see if those pictures on "people of Walmart were true)...So on the way to L&G I pass a display...or DISS-play as they say...of Kingsford Charcoal, one single bag (looked like a 15 pounder) and the price was 8 dollars and (I think) 68 cents... ...So I mosey on back to L&G and sure enough they've still got pallets of this charcoal laying around (2X15 pound bags) and sure enough the price is not marked and sure enough when I go to ring out the price is still only $5.48. So in the end, I got a neat little lesson in retail marketing -and- I got to do a little people watching.

Joking aside, the Bud family of products is on sale at The Liquor Barn this week...20.99 for a 30 pack. I'm thinking of picking up a couple of 30's for this weekends Garage Logic Burnt Meat, Swill Beer and Firework Festival.

Jason, you're right, I don't get out into the Interwebz much.

My point, however, is that we don't value train wrecks here, and your "contribution" doesn't really help cool things off. I'd rather count on the people here to have good sense than for me to have to run around shutting down conversations and banning people. So work with us, willya?

Are you African-American, by the way? I take it that avatar was meant to be autobiographical ...

Awesome! I prefer the Bud Select as you know. Less calories than Bud Light as I'm considering a vain, half hearted attempt to do something about this ever expanding space around my mid section. It's swimsuit season don't you know.
I'm still trying to figure out what to bring. I was thinking about smoking a side of slammin salmon with the usual acrutrements. Or if I can find some decent 'maters, I was thinking about making some panzanella, as it's great on a hot day. Or perhaps some blue cheese slaw. Any preference?

I also have a special surprise coming for you if the US Postal Service can get it here by Saturday! :D I'm assuming that John is in charge of the explosive devices?
