This would be so laughable, if it wasn't so sad.......

Jason, you shouldn't feel so threatened........

I agree in general, but don't think we should demonize "government" as the bad guy when the problem clearly lies with a single imbecile. Government is us, and the parent has a right (and maybe a duty)!tomraise hell and get things fixed. Government is only "them" if we the people are passive and submissive. But complain in a practical way: Respond to the source of the problem within the system.

Who do we call to get chicken nuggets disapproved as a healthy lunch item? And the folks who actually like to feed their kids chicken nuggets for lunch? What about them? If we manage to get chicken nuggets disapproved, what do they do?
Do we have to arrange cage match every 2-6 years for control of the government? So at least the winners can have their kids fed how they want? At least until the next cage match anyway.
That's the problem with a hugely powerful and intrusive government, there's only one set of winners on any particular issue. A smaller government, increases freedom, and everybody can win. This is what we used to call "live and let live". Now we are a nation of busybodies, financed by China.

Sweet Jayzus! We're talking about an overbearing lunch lady, a situation that any reasonably confident parent ought to be able to handle with a visit to the principal! It's a mighty long stretch to take that to national government.
As for the "small government" thing, the Southern states tried that argument in 1860, and they tried it again in the 1960s. We saw what came of that.
