My mom and I went yesterday and, though the food was really good, we are going to wait a few weeks for their "just opened" problems to be worked out. It appeared plain to us that the employees either were not well-trained or that they were slow learners. We went in, and, first of all, the only menus they have at the order counter are the "skinny menus". They basically told us, "we have bagel sandwiched with sausage, cheese, egg, etc." We found the regular menus at the cashier's counter. I don't have the specific sandwich names handy, but we ordered two to share- a sun-dried tomato/egg/cheese sandwich and a cinnamon-sugar bagel with maple cream cheese. We also got a 7-layer bar.

They gave us the wrong sandwich, first of all. They gave us a similar sounding one, which doesn't have the cheese but has turkey sausage (and actually it tasted like regular sausage). The sun-dried tomato bagel was the best part of it! Very flavorful and chewy!

The cinnamon sugar bagel and maple cream cheese was very tasty- the bagel is coated with cinnamon and sugar! The cinnamon sugar bagel at Panera is better because they butter and broil it first, but it was tasty nonetheless! The maple was nice and maple-y. The issue was that we had to wait for this part of our order because they somehow lost it- and there weren't even a dozen people there ordering! Also, the employee had to be told, "Now, you cut the bagel this way, you toast it, and then you spread the cream cheese on the bagel."

And the 7-layer bar was delicious!! Who can beat dark chocolate, walnuts, butterscotch, and coconut on a graham cracker crust?!

They're just the same as they used to be when Bruegger's was here before. Not a true New York bagel but certainly better than anything else in town. We went in the other day and had a couple while we were there as well as bringing a few home. They're nice and chewy with a slightly crisp crust. We tried several different varieties and they were all quite good. We didn't try any of the sandwiches but some of them did look to look interesting, issues that I am somewhat of a bagel purist and would rather just eat them with cream cheese!
