Her Southern bullsh_t shtick also gets almost as old as some of the craft beer shtick on this forum ... too many y'alls etc.

Craft beer now has 14+% of the total beer market. A lot of people don't think it is shtick.

Up 14% in the first half of 2011. I think that still puts the market share at just under 6% though, unless mass market sales have plummeted in half.

But, math aside, I dont see any craft beer shtick. Just a bunch of people who love craft beer.

I was supposed to do math? I just read the headlines and look at the pictures.

I like watching Bourdain's show. He has a certain charismatic style. On the other hand, that is completely negated if he's truly taking shots at these people. They're all in show business though, so I think they probably take it all with a grain of salt, or a stick of butter. :D

In Bourdains (not so new now) book Medium Raw he has a really good section talking about his initial disdain for Emeril. But he explains that he actually got some time to talk to Emeril about what he does and why he does it...the answer is really good. Bourdain admits that he had it all wrong about Emeril. I wont tell you here what was said because its a good read. Simply put its Bourdains shtick to be abrasive and he knows that. But to be where he is now after serious heroin and cocaine addiction is nothing short of a miracle. Read the book, its pretty good. Just my 2 cents. Oh and I am a serious beer snob too. I love Jerry Gnagys libations.

I find what these food network "chefs" present is acceptable. I also see why real chefs have a problem with them, because what they show people how to cook belittles the techniques and effort that is put in to what real chefs love. None of the food network stars can hold a flame to Martin Yan, or Ming Tsai, or Wolfgang when he was on PBS showing off how to make a croquembouche. I saw Martin Yan in a live demonstration, he deboned a chicken with a cleaver in eight seconds, if I saw a chef of that caliber on television again I would be ecstatic.
Side note: I like Anthony Bourdain, he’s like the Michael Moore of the food word. He might not be completely right, or right at all, but it evokes thought and conversation on food. I love that.
There’s a difference between being a has been and being a never was. That is the issue.
I’ll regret this tomorrow…
