Newsome's country ham, boiled peanuts, and Cheerwine ... danger, Will Robinson, danger. I really like the looks of the menu.

Did someone say Cheerwine?

That seals the deal for me. I really enjoy my bourbon, but there is nothing like a Crown and Cheerwine.

It sure does seem really out of character for him, but all bets are off when you mess with a guy's daughter.

On the other hand this "News Of The Weird Restauranteurs" doesn't surprise me;

Tim - I think you posted in the wrong spot. I assume you are talking about Majid?

Went on Wednesday...

...the Hams are unreal, and they slice them ultra thin, like prosciutto. Oysters were great and fresh.

My sausage pizza I found a little bland. Very skimpy on toppings/cheese, which I completely understand is the norm for Neo style pies.......but but around 30% of each slice wasn't covered w/ anything at all. Also, the pizza was 'wet' for some reason, maybe b/c I supplemented teh fresh buffalo mozz?

Also tried a white pizza, which was better. The crust on both was fantastic.

Topped it all off w/ a Ginger Soda (the real thing), and a Louisville Egg Cream, both great.

Really cool place & atmosphere. Think I'll let them master the oven/pizzas a little more, and give it another shot. Not sure it's on Coal's level though just yet...

The building and beer list are awesome, the pizza was ok. I had high hopes for the pizza and it didn't quite deliver; a little "wet", lacking tremendous flavor, and the basil was burnt. Better than most chains, but below Coal's and Papalino's. We'll go back for the ham, oysters, and beer.

I went last night with my 7 year old. Love what they've done with the place and love the vibe & casualness. We had the Sweet Corn with Roasted Garlic cream pie and the Margerita. Both pies were very good, ingredient amount and flavor were great,but the crust was a little floppy- I think they are still working the kinks out of working with the oven. I had to pass on the hams, but will love to come back another time- I'd love to try them all side by side. Yum- leftover Sweet corn bacon pizza for dinner tonight!
