Why "quiet" and not "exotic"???

Per her request, quiet so that there can be conversation at the table that she can hear and participate in . Nothing exotic refers to ethnic foods that she can no longer digest with ease. I think she wants to build a memorable experience. She's unable to go out much anymore. Lunch is much more doable than dinner even with light in the sky. Also, she's lunching with "the girls" meaning women she went to grade school with. This is huge.

It'd be even BETER if it was a Casino, lunch, nickle slots and an "All Male Review"...I mean dine with "Paula", lose a couple rolls of nickles, pinch a little bootie. WHAT 90 year old woman wouldn't enjoy that ? Seriously.

I'll ask her.

Good enough reason for me! I'd still check out 21C (Proof) and Rivue, as quiet (during lunch), fun, and different. The casino would be different & fun, but it is a lot of walking.

My grandma (who raised me, so she is "Mom") had her last birthday on this earth at the age of 95 (in October of 2010)

She lived in a small town, and one of the "better" restaurants there was Red Lobster. She went there for lobster on her last birthday. If she had been here, I might have suggested Mitchell's. Yes, I know it's a chain, but she would have liked it; it's quiet, the food is well-prepared (I don't like seafood, so I can only go by the other stuff) and the service is generally good.

She would have liked Pat's as well. I don't care for it, but, I think she would have enjoyed it.

Of course, she also loved Cracker Barrel, and Bob Evans, so... :P

I haven't really been in this town long enough to give a really good recommendation, but honestly, the best place to take her, is somewhere she loves. With people who love her.
