Will someone help me out on the Old Chicago beer list, because the few times Ive been I was completely whelmed.

I dont see why it is a welcome addition. If I want pizza and beer, I will spend the extra 20 minutes to get to Grant Line.

If it is indeed going to be an Old Chicago location, I think they will crush it over there. I'm not so lazy that I won't drive down to the Wicks at Goose Creek to get a good pie, but a lot of people are. The service at the Wicks on Goose Creek is spotty, and I doubt that Old Chicago will have that issue with corporate trainers and a business model that includes hosts/hostess etc.

Obviously you haven't eaten there, aside from their food being average at best their server's knowledge and performance were both subpar in my experience.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

Always have had a good pizza at Old Chicago, like the buttery crust. Had Lou Malnati's on Northwestern's campus and really like Old Chicago better, particularly the Thai Pie. Service hasn't always been good, but would be nice to not drive all the way to J-town. Look forward to it :)

Finally found out the full details on the On the Border. We were both right...

Junior's company bought the real estate and leased it back to the Old Chicago franchisee. So the current construction is for Old Chicago.

And, as others mentioned, Drake's is the one attempting to go into Max & Erma's... But it is not as far along as the newspaper article would have you believe. Still a lot of paperwork to do before calling it a done deal. Buying something from a bankruptcy trustee and dealing with food restrictions in competitor's leases is not an easy task. I showed that building to a national concept over a year ago and I don't think the paperwork is much further along than it was then!
