What's "American style cooking," James?

Oh, now that's easy enough. It consists of ...eh, well, if you start with, eh, eh, so then .......oh heck, I don't know! One exercise I do in one of my classes is to define "American culture." I'll assure you that it splinters into multiple directions. I guess its like NY pizza: if its on the street corner its not real NY pizza. New Heaven NY pizza may even be better than Ny, Ny pizza. Or as Bubba on Forest Gump would say, "We got Boombozz Ny pizza, we got Street Vendor NY pizza, we got orange grease NY pizza, we got not so stretchy cheese NY pizza, we got soggy crust NY pizza, we got crust that doesn't quite fold over right Ny pizza, we got New Jersey Ny pizza...." ........Hey, ya gotta admit its kindda funny!

Perhaps some of our finer local pizza establishments should start offering small containers of orange grease that customers can request on the side and apply at their discretion?

Everybody wins.

I dont get it. Someone describes a food that makes them feel like they are home again and people mock them?

Anyone who offers a negative view here is crazy.

I was just joking, Art, and certainly didn't think anyone would be offended. I don't understand all of the sensitivity.

Hell, I LIKE NY street corner pizza. I used to visit a buddy in Brooklyn frequently, and that's what I always considered NY Pizza, orange oil and all, before I became better acquainted with the multiple styles of NY. But I also like Papalino's, DiOrio's Boombozz, Bearno... and New Haven Style Pizza, chicago-style and Louisville-style pizza...hell, my buddy ordered Domino's the other day, and I enjoyed a slice or two.

I've been known to enjoy a frozen pizza on occasion also

Some people might think that's gross or uncultured of me, and maybe they're right. But I certainly wouldn't get upset with them for disagreeing or joking with me on the internet about it.

I go along with all that, especially the joking part. Well, maybe except for the Domino's.

Ok. Can't we make fun of Chicago style pizza instead? Now that's funny.

The pizza had a nice flavor, but really reminded me of their margherita pizza.

Took the pies to a birthday lunch (15 people). Everyone liked it ok - one person REALLY loved it.
I, however, will continue to enjoy my beloved Quattro when I eat at Boombozz 8)

Nice meeting you AM! :)

Art T wrote:I like the chewy foldable pie though.

Exactly! And that's exactly how this crust was, a little crisp on the bottom chewy and it folded nicely. At issue also stated I didn't grow up with all the grease nor the toppings always sliding off like Annemarie was used to. There's so many New York pizza parlors and styles that everyone has their favorites. The one thing most of them to have in common however is the crust and this crust was very good! As I stated earlier I thought it was a very good pie especially since we had it without any toppings other than cheese so we could taste the basic pie better!
