Mr Thomas can laugh all he wants to...NOW...But I will speculate it will be "I" who is laughing after my Packers dismember his Steelers on Sunday.

SH** !!!!....That just reminded me. I forgot to go down and buy a "square" on the "Big Board" at my favorite pub.

I always enjoy Phil's posts and point of view, but he's being silly now.

I do agree that the decor in Ramada Inns used to leave a lot to be desired. On the other hand, I haven't been in one in 25 years, and neither has Phil, I'll bet. Nevertheless, probably still not great decor.

Well Phil, all I can say is...
"Put on your big girl panties and deal with it!!!! " I’ve been bitched out (who said that!!?) once or twice, treated like I have cooties, and sometimes actually have people on here talk to me like I'm a "real live hue-min be-in' !!!

If this were my life, or even more than a small fraction of it, I still don't believe I would say "see ya" because someone didn't like my post.

I do refrain from saying what I'd REALLY like to say, but that, of course, is because of my job. If I didn't have to stay neutral, I wouldn't have to say "see ya" - I probably would've been kicked off by now :P

I just told AnneMarie this morning how much I enjoy your posts - I get a kick out of seeing the "pot" getting stirred. It's so much fun to see some people straddle the fence to make sure they stay within the good graces of the powers that be, and then others that can crap on anyone's ice cream and get away with it. But that's what I enjoy about this forum - I joined it for professional purposes, which we all know hasn't worked too well in my favor, but have stayed because it is truly entertainment for me!

I'm considering going to my 1st offline (Coal's Pizza) - I'm just now at the point where I would like to meet some of the members (you were one of them!)

Anyway - leave if you must, but, alas, what will you do yourself??? Oh, oh I know...find out where we can get some of the HOLE BARS Heather was talking about…. now I think I'll go to RED LOBSTER and have a MILLER LITE 8)

Phil,

Everybody here knows by now that you are shootin' salad- that you are taking poetic liscence with your opinions. They are responding in kind. It's all fun amongst friends- don't be the kid that gets shot in the eye, so to speak.

You are loved here, man. Do your thing. Promise, nobody will 'shirk a handshake.'

Seriously Phil... less than a month and you're bailing? (shrugs)
For me, I love this forum BECAUSE of the varying opinions. What a drag to sit anywhere and be among people that all feel exactly the same way and agree upon everything. Boring. Agree with the forum members or not, I respect this group of people because many are some of the best in their field and I appreciate their sharp minds and sometimes extreme opinions. I get off on the thought provoking quality of the conversations ESPECIALLY when the opinions differ from my own. Don't you think it's valuable to be challenged, questioned, exposed to another opinion that you may not have thought of? Leave if you want but some of us will hang around to poke the bear.

Thanks for any of those words of support.. I have just decided to stay off the Forum permanently. My writings seems to be taken the wrong way, and the responses always make me feel bad about myself. I realize my personality is not a good fit for Louisville, and I am here to support my wife and just try to survive in a city that cannot accept my persona with open arms. I guess keeping a low profile is the way to go, I will try not to suggest any changes that I believe would help Louisville's future fortunes. I was hoping to do some development here, but now realize my concepts will have an uphill battle being accepted. Perhaps I need to turn to Indianapolis, Lexington, or Cincinnati for development possibilities. It will be a difficult existence, but my wife is worth it. Thanks again. Phil

Phil, you've always had an articluate way of expressing yourself on this board (a talent which I sorely lack), and I've enjoyed reading your posts. However, boards like this encourage a melange of opinions, perspectives and ideas. Well-written, throught-provoking ideas such as yours invite response --and sometimes debate -- but that's where progress begins.

I hope that you reconsider your decision, but if not, we've enjoyed your contributions and best wishes wherever your path takes you.

This topic is so lame and so nothing to do about FOOD, but I still feel as if you should stay Phil. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and free to share it openly...lighten up dude. 8)

That's only part of the "agreement" though. How you share it does matter at the end of the day. He's free to share it openly, and other people are free to respond to it as they please.

You know, instead of getting into a battle of "freedoms," sometimes it's better to consider one's approach before stating an opinion.
