Becky,

The cheapest place I have found for whole wheat flour (sort of) is Costco. They carry the Eagle Mills ultragrain flour, which is whole white wheat flour milled very fine, mixed with white. It's unbleached as well. Two ten pound bags for about $5. I use this interchangeably with white flour.

Meijer carries this brand in a five pound bag.

My parents , I THINK , have bought other goods at Aldis beside the typical grocery. Is this correct?

Probably. We've bought small refrigerators, hot pots, cookie cooling racks, that sort of thing,

I like Aldis. The store is much smaller than the average grocery and since I have a bit of trouble walking it works for me.

The selection is less than the big stores and you will not recognize the brand names. However everything I have bought has been equal to regular brands. For example I picked up a gallon of milk under an off brand name. It was 1.49. I noticed a Dean Milk truck delivering to them a couple of days ago so I expect that is exactly the same as Deans.

They have some meat and produce and plenty of staples. Nothing unusual but all of what most people would buy.

In order to cut costs, you have to bag your own stuff in your bags. They sell bags for a few cents but you can bring your own. Also make sure you have a quarter if you want a basket. The idea is for you to return your basket and you can retrieve your quarter. I can park close with my handicapped sticker, but even without one you will be able to find a spot close.

I go to the store on Bardstown Rd.
